It looks like the $1,500 Oregon rebates for PHEVs are moving another step forward. Here's what I received in e-mail today, a few weeks after submitting the "Step 2" paperwork to apply for a rebate: "Congratulations! This email confirms (a) that we have received your application; (b) that your application has been reviewed and is complete; and (c) that you have been approved to receive your Standard Rebate. You will receive your rebate check by mail at the address provided in your application once your application cohort becomes active. For Phase 1 applicants the application cohort becomes active based on the date that the Phase 1 application was submitted. For all other applicants the application cohort becomes active based on the vehicle purchase/lease date. " Of course, I have no idea when the "application cohort becomes active" (my cohort is July 2018). But at least this shows it's coming.
What is an "application cohort"? I know that cohort mean companion or friend, but have never heard it used in this context.
Looked it up, can refer to a group of like minded individuals. Pretty esoteric expression though. Not good to use language that leaves the bulk of your audience scratching their heads.
The word "cohort" simply means "group" in this context. The term is often used in medical research., as in Cohort study - Wikipedia
Thanks. Replacing cohort with group makes it understandable. Interesting if that is the way the government in Oregon communicates with its citizens.
Out of curiosity, when did you submit the Phase 1 application? Mine went in on 07/31/18 and I'm still waiting for the Phase 2.
It usually takes about 3-4 months for California applicants to receive their rebates. Maybe yours will be faster.
Woah!! I had no idea Oregon had a rebate! I'm assuming it is independent of the federal tax credit? Update: I just looked into it a bit. Appears to have gone live December 2018. The first thing I do tomorrow is going to be filling out the application. I want me some free money!
Any update? I received the email stating our paperwork had been received and that we were moving onto the next phase in April...
I applied in April 2018 for phase 1, then got acknowledgement of phase 2 in January 2019 and filled out that application, then received a check for $1500 in March.
