Because I have gone from 49mpg when I purchased my 2014 Prius in Dec 2017 down to 43mpg today (both figures from equal mix of highway and surface streets) I bought a Carista Bluetooth diagnostic interface and downloaded an app to check the battery cells. I’m not very knowledgeable about scanners so I wanted to post a screen grab and get some advice. All of the blocks are around 15 volts except one which reads zero. Could that be possible? I had taken it to a mechanic and the dealer and neither said there was a problem. There is no dashboard warning light on. Any thoughts?
As you are well aware, there are many things that can cause low mpg. Some questions: How many miles on your Prius? It was pretty windy yesterday at least just west of you, were you driving against or with the wind? Tire pressures? Brake drag or last time an inspection was performed? How many miles did you put on for the 43 mpg figure? What type of driving was the 43 mpg figure reached in? I’ve not tried the Carista app before, but if you do not have any dash lights on, the app is not giving you good information because if one block was reading zero, the car would let you know without having to find an app to tell you . Good luck and keep us posted .
