I know they'll work, so buy them if you like them, they'll just be a bit more inset than your current OE 15" wheel/tire. When compared to your 15" wheels, the outside of the wheel will be inset about ~1/8"+ more & the inside of the wheel will be about ~5/8"s closer to the strut.

Consider a spacer either now or later, if it were me I'd mount them first & then assess them. A 5mm spacer will work with your current setup, if you go to a bigger spacer like a 10mm you'll need a set of longer wheel bolts.

Keep us up to date on your progress...

Thanks, Rob. I forgot to ask if the Gen 4 fitment is the same as for Gen 3. Kind of important info to know. :) Ray's intended the Super Eco 17x7 50 inset for the Prius Gen 3, so that's what got me thinking that the Advan 50 inset would also fit nicely.

I get that Toyota probably did a bit of calculating when they decided to put these 15" wheels on the Prime. However, they look terrible in my opinion. Literally the only thing about the exterior styling that I don't like. I'm also aware that this will most likely impact fuel economy. My commute is 6 miles and I charge it every night. So as long as I can still get 12 miles in EV mode I'm not super concerned.

That being said, has anyone put the 2015+ Corolla S wheels on a Prius Prime? I've seen it on a regular Prius and it looks pretty good.

4ff4f331cca24dd1e28185be247a3964 - Edited.jpg Those are nice looking wheels that will give you a Perfect Fit in all categories, with one exception...

WEIGHT, they're roughly ~24 plus pounds. So depending on what 205/50-17 tire you buy, expect an overall weight
of 45 to 50 lbs when mounted. This probably means about a ~38% increase in un-sprung weight.

    That's pretty heavy. I think the FRS/BRZ wheel/tire combo is 37lbs

I'm still looking into the fitment issue, but I did find out that the 17x7 Advan RT weighs in at 7 kg. (15.4 lb). I'd love to see photos of a Prius with the 17x7 with +50 inset. I want to see what the wheel's "face" looks like—concave-ish I hope, but what if it's a bit on the convex side? I somehow doubt if the 17x7 will look exactly like the RT in the photos I posted earlier (don't know what size that one is), but if the 17x7 +50 is acceptable to look at and fits with no problems, I think this would be a perfect wheel for my purposes.

You should bank on about ~40 to maybe ~41 lbs all up, that particular 17x7" wheel weighs in at a hair over 20 lbs.

    Choices choices choices....

I hope you get that wheel assuming it gives you everything you want aesthetically. Being 15.4 lbs makes it Very light weight, you'll actually get close to the Primes ~34 lbs OE wheel weight. Buy it, run it.....then decide about a wheel spacer.

PS, buy a set of 54.1mm hub centric rings.

Like I already Implied, you'll be at 40+ lbs the moment you don't put the lightest possible tire on it.

Try looking up tire weight, almost all are at 20+ lbs....

Aesthetics (design and colour), weight, size and proper fitment—an extremely hard combination to find. An altogether frustrating process, and you end up with just a handful of candidates if you're lucky. :(

Day pics! I absolutely love how much sportier these wheels make the Prime look. The biggest advantage is that they also make the wheels look bigger than they actually are (especially from a distance) because of their color and style.

Hello! This is my very first post on this forum. I just purchased a 2019 Prius Prime 3 weeks ago and am loving it so far. I live in CO and have only seen 2 Primes in the last 4-5 months!
Anyway - I don't care for the wheel size and would like to upgrade to 17" tires. What is the process of getting the speedometer calibrated after upgrading the tire size? Will tire shops do this for an extra charge or do I need to take the car to a dealership?

    Welcome !

There is no need to re-calibrate your speedo because your goal will be to end up with the Same Overall Diameter of ~25".

There are 3 typical tire sizes for a 17" application:
    1) 205/50-17 which is 25.1" OD, speedo error = -0.36%
    2) 215/45-17 which is 24.6" OD, speedo error = +1.47%
    3) 225/45-17 which is 25.0" OD, speedo error = 0.0%

I personally run a 205/50-17" on a 17x7" ET40, a 25.1" OD has a speedo error of -0.36% which is like saying 0.0%. Also, while I have not officially weighed my setup, my tires weigh 19.2 lbs and my wheels weigh 17.0 lbs, then always add ~1/2" to ~1 lbs for tpms, wheel balance weights, & air.

19"x8.5 rims fits well. Will it increase gas mileage?

They "fit" (it's not a Prime), but as anyone can see in your pics, those tires are on the small side & are stretched onto those wheels.

Yes, you will lose some MPG's, only testing will determine what percentage of loss you will experience. The upside is your dry grip and most likely your wet grip will be Much better when compared to the Toyota LRR OE tires.

Has anyone mounted some Prius PLUS 17-In. Split 5-Spoke Forged Wheels on their Prius Prime? I'm considering getting a Prime (upgrading from my 2012 Prius Performance Plus edition) and one of the things I really love about my car are the factor forged wheels. Would love to see how they look on the car. Weight shouldn't be a big concern as they are only 20lbs each being forged.

    Thanks!

^ Your current 17" wheels will bolt right onto your "future" Prius Prime with no modifications.

Do It, It Will Transform* Your "Future" Prime !
