I would not bother changing the grade, whatever you have been using so far, if that is 5w30 stick with it, these engines are actually designed to work with 0w20 and as I mentioned above that is what I run in mine which is in good working order, and it does not burn, barely even darkened it to a hue of brown after 7500 miles on this change, that is mobil full sintetic advanced economy.

5W30 is thick enough, no sense going to a heavier oil, doubt it will solve anything. I am a fan of the max life brand, I have been using it for years in my other cars, lot sooner than the quoted 75 ooo miles, my Cavalier USmade 2200 cc pushrod engine much larger tolerances, has been on it since 50k, at the moment has about the same miles as yours, and might burn a half liter at 3000 miles oilchanges.

considering the LPG which runs hotter especially when not set up well, ( not sure what exactly may have happened there ) my guess would be that your exhaust valve seals started deteriorating first, I am not very familiar with this particular motor so its just a common practice guess, the rings would be next, a compression test will tell you if you are still within specs, that is really easy to do.

if I am on the right track so far that Max Life oil is the best thing I can suggest short of replacing the valve seals, the other additive I mentioned is more so for cylinder walls and rings, hope it did not get that far, but if you can find it it wount hurt to try it if not let me know if you want to give it a go.

here that stuff is widely available locally even in supermarkets for about $15 for a 5 liter jug, shipping it to ireland may be a different story, do you have WallMart there or something of the likes?

We have main dealers network (which is no for this case of maxlife oil), we have motorfactors(local shops which supply everything and anything), we have parcelmotel (company which provide access to secure sort of PO Boxes) where we can collect our online purchases from UK- this is what I mostly do. While I'm purchasing stuff I do it on UK's website Amazon.co.uk: Low Prices in Electronics, Books, Sports Equipment & more

sounds expensive in comparison, for me there really is not any price difference between regular oil and someting like this and I can pick it up on my way home so it only makes sense, I will probably try it at arround 100k miles but for now the 0w20 is doing well and I am pushing 10k on an oilchange and it is not as dark as the regular 5w30 mineral would get in a normal domestic car in only 3000miles, is a bit more expensive but considering the intervals is actually cheaper, supposedly I get an extra MPG or 2 from running thin oil, but honestly what I noticed to make the better savings was that plugin kit, I haven't had it on the charger lately but I noticed my average MPG are better than before, I think it had something to do with rejuvinating the traction pack, its a long off topic story but runing a little extra voltage aparently balanced the oem pack and even with the sistem off the car runs better, its an 07 so 7 years old pack, with such low mileage it sat for a while too, I used to get 47 mpg when I first got it, last summer barely touched 50 rarely, now without the plugin 52 xonsistently, I doun't think much else changed as in driving stile, same routes, short 10 mile trips at a time, with the ocasional freeway run for maybe 20 miles

I placed an online order for 5w30maxlife by valvoline, it will take a week before I will get it. picked up an oil filter at local toyota dealership for eur9.5 included the washer for sump nut.

i will try with an oil alone, then see it for 2k or 3k km's. If still burning new oil this bad, then at 3k I will most likely purchase ametech restorer.

if you are going to use the restorer it is best to use it with a new oil change the more miles you have it in there the more time it has to work, if you top it off with it half through and oilchange you are only giving it half the time to try and do something so I think it is best to either do it all at once or try the max life alone for this oilchange and both next time, I suspect your valveseals to have developed wear first max life has some aditives for that, it may help it may not do anything or work wonders, depends how bad is it, either way it will be a slow process and even if it improves any it will be a few oil changes before you notice something significant, at this mileage it wont hurt none and I personally would use something of this kind from now on, I tried other kids like Castrol for example, but for some reason ( I believe it was available in 1 gal jugs for a better deal ) this is what I stuck with, other brands may be just as good or differ this worked well for me in engines that allready had issues, and since I have been using it in all my cars above 50k, the prius is the first exeption, it does not seem to show any wear yet and due to its nature doesnt smoke up the oil like a normal car will so untill that I'll stick with full sintheti 0w20

I am still amazed by what you guys pay for this stuff, I usually use the generic filters some of them are better built than name brands, and its in the order of $2 not enough to even pay atention to the pricetag,

what do you mean by the washer? for the drain plug? interesting, never changed one thou some engines I had needed it

Thats funny Fizics:ROFLMAO: because the systems they make usually fizz? Anyway, I agree dont bother with HHO if these systems work they are difficult to mannage. the solution/water changes and as it does the amperage goes up causing the systems to draw more current and start making lots of hydrogen/browns gas. you end up with a whole lot of issues and the plates in the system corrode and you will just have to rebuild over and over:mad: , and what is the gain? I believe if these systems work they need substiantial development and will be sophisticated in order to work. dont wast time and money on browns gas.

let it go, the whole trick would be if the hho generator was powered by the excess heat out the tailpipe or coolant, recovering waist in much the same way hybrid systems regen, thou in the prius I believe the way the power is put to ground has more to do with eficiency than the rest.

when you use mechanical energy, to make electricity, to make hho, to burn and make heat, to make mechanical energy , and than put it to ground, you would have been better off putting it to ground in the first place, thats why I say it is a hoax, intentional or not

cant get something for nothing certainly not more of, not in this universe unless it is beyound my comprehension and we are talking quantums, and dark matter, fictional stuff

It's working normally, nothing to complain about. Just go with the system and you'll be fine.

    Hi Guys,

What's the largest toroidal tank can fit under boot cover? Will 600x300 fit?

I'm assuming that you mean that cover which is pulled back to keep people from seeing what's under the hatch?

    What's the final dimension?

Has anyone tried this with the PHEV mod? Part of the draw back with LPG is the range, and if you can extend it with battery it might be a great combo.

Where will you put the LPG tank?

Doing a plug-in doesn't make any sense at all, not from financial stand point and not from emissions stand point.
