    Hi all,
after 3 month of ownership i found a protection foil on my hood.
I really must say that it was put on with precision and care.

Do all of the priii come with this or is this an add on i did not know i have?

    You mean over the paint?

No, never seen it - did you buy it new?

I know some people have it installed on the bonnet and front bumpers to protect from stone-chips, maybe your previous owner had it installed?

The thread title had me going. I thought this was about something that people can install so that they don't have to wear their tinfoil hat in the car.

I think we're guessing clear bra?

It comes in various forms - you can get just the front part of the bonnet, which I reckon looks a bit odd after it's a couple of years old, and the paint could fade at a different rate.

The terminology may have changed - but initially, a car-bra was a loose-fitting item - super ugly. But I haven't seen one for ages, last was on a PORSCHE.

Clear is the way now days - but they may have borrowed the old terminology.

Here the price to get a front kit installed was $800-1000.

Of course, you can change the entire colour of your car - for a price$$$. $4-5000 - and more for metallic finishes.

I'm guessing OP's talking about clear film on some of the hood? That's optional for sure. My guess would be a sale that fell through?

Our 2010 came with illuminated door sills. I thought for several years they were standard on our level (Touring), but apparently not. Likely another sale that fell through.

Sometimes they option a demonstrator up too, or the Manager's personal car. My first car, a '56 Holden came with a number of non-standard items, like a Dipping Mirror, a Chev Speedometer, carpets instead of rubber floor mats, wind and sun visors - even a carpeted boot. I discovered that it was originally the Manager's car of the local Holden dealership.

We bought a demo once; it had maybe 200 kms, and had been "owned" by the dealership for 2~3 months, the meter had started ticking on the warranty for that time.

But our 2010 was still very new, only about 10 kms on the odo, and never been owned. Very dusty too, shunted to the back of a storage shed, thankfully quite sheltered. Yeah, just got the sense of a fallen through sale.
