My old man put the finishing touches on his winter prep Friday. Split the last of the wood and loaded it up in the shed. 2 months til they spend Christmas out here .
Some people actually want o see a white Christmas . I’ve seen enough of them in my lifetime . When the wife’s grandmother live in Orange County, we would spend Christmas at San Clemente beach. That was a great place to spend Christmas .
i would gladly swap the snow and cold for a silver Christmas tree, or even a pole from the crawl space.
If they had to, could MLB move the Boston games to a neutral stadium? They can't play in that weather. And I think they should shorten the season, but they love the revenue too much. There was still 5,700 seats available for last night's game. $324. No doubt, you would need binoculars. Former Red Sox and Dodgers player Nomar Garciaparra was talking about both stadiums. He said everyone stands in Fenway Park because the seats are too narrow. Is that true bisco? Geez, I would never fit. The last time I was at Dodger Stadium was many years ago... and I was much thinner back then. And the seats were pretty narrow.
old stadium, old seats. some people are sentimental, some are old school. no cup holder or place for your food, only the very limited real estate at your feet. when we had tix, i insisted on the aisle.
it does. there's a bunch of new seating in different places. but they tend to be far away, and they ain't cheap. nothing is cheap though, even the bleachers. parking is the biggest expense, unless you take the tune town trolley in. we sat in the green monster seats once. fun for a lark, but you're a mile away from home plate, and can't see the left fielder we did catch a home run ball of pedie though
Probably as expensive as either giants or a’s parking out here. When we watched Sean Manaya’s no-no, it was $30 for the privilege of parking at the coliseum . Last Giants games I went to it was $50 across the street from the park. I find it best to watch from home. Less hassle.
14 years ago, it cost me a hundred bucks to park at a gas station. then the game got rained out. and, i took everyone out to dinner. it is what it is.
The wife and I are “thrifty” and think about that same scenario and see what we could have done with the funds, like put it towards a bigger tv. LED TV is amazing.
that's why we gave up our pats tix. 20k/year to sit in the cold and freeze. 60" tv and a warm fire, $1. beer vs $10. if the game stinks, i can go play..
not sure, i think they claimed no, but came up with a different scheme. we paid 20k/year for a 10 year contract. 'club seats'. they were comfortable, but still cold. they have a huge exclusive heated restaurant and bars, and yet you couldn't find a seat at halftime. and the price doesn't keep out the drunks and losers who get tickets from the owners of the seats for free.
The NFL is a HUGE racket. Some of my colleagues at work are raiders fans and will stay with the team when it moves to Vegas. They haven’t said much about the cost of the PSL, but I know it’ll be pricey.
