The wife and I both think that the air flow from the dash vents is much lower than it used to be.....'17 C4.

Is there a cabin air filter behind the glove box in the C like some other models have ??

The fan display goes all the way UP and you can hear the fan speed up.......but the air flow just isn't there.

Still under warranty so the shop will likely get it next week.

Yes, and you can easily check it yourself in a few minutes. If it's dirty, that's not something the warranty covers (normal wear item like oil, wipers, tires, etc.).

Behind the glove box as you suspect, and as Zen said, very easy to replace. Also much cheaper if you buy it at an auto parts store and do it yourself. Surprised the dealer hasn't suggested replacement already, whether you needed it or not :).

Cabin air filters are 1/3 the price on Ebay compared to stores... Make sure to get one w/charcoal in it and not cheap white paper ones.

    I'm just a bit over 10K miles.
And I'm not in a dusty area......but it might be clogged with love bugs.

Really I doubt that's the problem but won't know until I check it.

    Thanks for the replies.

I've never once replaced these things. I just pull them out when the air gets restricted and close it back up. :)

If you want to protect the lungs of yourself and your loved ones you need to replace these every 6 months with charcoal activated filters and keep it on recirculate so as to avoid breathing car exhaust from other vehicles.

It's important to take the health of your lungs seriously! It's the primary limit to longevity in old age because lung capacity starts to decline in your mid-20's. What's worse is prolonged exposure to air pollution has been found to lower intelligence and induce lethargy.

Maybe if you put your old filter in the forest and water it you can re-use to grow more trees? The world needs way more trees!!!

My first Prius was also the first car I owned that had a cabin-intake filter. Everything else just sucked in whatever Mother Nature served up, and blew it into the A/C evaporator, which is usually moist during operation, so it makes a pretty good debris trap.

Dry leaves were especially good. Would get converted into fine leaf confetti on their way through the blower, then get packed very densely into the A/C evaporator fins with blower pressure behind them.

Solution I found was to take out the evaporator and soak it for several days in a tub of warm water with a cupful of the bacteria/enzyme gook you can flush down to digest stuff in septic tanks. Then a trip to the U-spray-it car wash to use the pressure wand to spray the digested leaf gook out of the fins. All clean and shiny, no harsh chemical damage to the aluminum, and both the heat and A/C worked waay better afterward.

It's faster to change a cabin filter though.

First, recirc still allows in about 20% outside air.
Second, I've never heard that the cabin air filter does anything to reduce gaseous contamination in the air.

I think you are stretching a point here.
