Can anyone tell me where they bought their replacement MFD for a Gen 2 Prius? Who did you buy it from and what is a reasonable price to pay? Any with a warranty? I know they are on ebay, but who should I buy from?

On our previous car our Toyota dealer installed a refurb MFD but they did give a one year, unlimited mileage warranty with it. I'm sure it was very overpriced at $1500 installed. At the time we were still somewhat intimidated by the "new to us" car; we didn't know much about who to trust after reading about all the fraud and incorrect parts to choose from out there.

Do you plan to install it yourself? That makes a huge difference.

Steve at Prius hybrids sales and service Scottsburg Indiana , sells refurbed MFDs and offers a refurb service for the one you have. Contact him. Steve is a good guy.

I got one from eBay. $200 and mint condition. I got lucky because 7 button units average $400.

Sorry, the info is not available on my app. I just try to buy from people with good feedback. Ebay will refund the money anyway if the seller is misleading or fraudulent.

Also, verify the part number on the unit. You need to match it. Each year may have only one or two compatible units.

One of the reasons we went through the dealer before we found our current Prius mechanic. The wrong part ordered would fall on them, not us.

I sold my dead one for $60 making my net cost $140. Installation was very easy.

I have a 2006 Prius with Package #3. 4 buttons on the mfd. No navigation. It has the backup camera. I think the right part number is 86110-47081. But, I'm not sure.

4 button units tend to be cheaper.

I just checked eBay and they start around $100. If you buy, just pick a seller with good feedback.

Does anyone know if there is a way to confirm the MFD part number for my 2006 Prius with package 3, back up camera, no navigation? I know I could take the MFD out and look at the part
number on it, but I would rather avoid it at this time. Where can I find out the part number online? Do I need the vin number to do this?

Back when I needed help, Bisco connected me with Todd @TampaPrius.com and he had the info I needed. Todd was awesome. My daughter's prius would accept 2 different part numbers. Just click on @TampaPrius.com and pm him.
