My Prime charged fine at home last night. I attempted to plug in at work at a Chargepoint, of which has worked for me all the time (as of last Friday, it was working), and it won't charge. I tried two different stations. Chargepoint is working, but it tells me it's waiting on my car. Any ideas as to why it wouldn't be charging?
Does your car have a charge schedule set? If so, did you override it by pressing Charge Now before exiting the vehicle?
I reported the first one that I used this morning, but not the second one. Another car was charging at that first unit I tried when I pulled in for the second try.
Sometimes it take 5 or 10 minutes for my car to start charging. How long did you leave it plugged in before you gave up?
I didn't notice it an walked away. I got a text from my Chargepoint app saying i was plugged in but not charging and to check it. It was 27 minutes later I got that text.
It’s charging at home right now. I have a ClipperCreek high power charger. I don’t know what o/m is. It seems to me it’s the ChargePoint charger, but both of them? And they were charging other cars. At least, other cars were parked there...
others have reported this sort of thing, iirc. seems like they don't always play nicely with prime for some reason
Same thing happened to me yesterday. 2 out of 4 ChargePoint chargers were not working. I've been charging there for about a month every morning. Yesterday I wasn't able to charge my car but luckily today nobody is using it. Not sure if its Prime related issue or ChargePoint charger issue.
Well, people in the Facebook Prius Prime Owners group suggested I hit yes on the "charge now" option. Never had to do that before, but I tried this morning. Only the option is greyed out and I can't do anything with it. It's set to yes. The only thing I can do is set a schedule. Everything was working fine until this week. Did something change in my car, like an upload or something that I don't know about? So my car would not charge this morning at Chargepoint but did charge last night at home, once again. It's not CP, it's my car.
I have had problems with Chargepoint chargers at certain locations; they are unreliable. I've never had any problems with my home L2 charger. Occasionally, the charger plugs don't fit properly; the plug seems to be dirty or misaligned; I have to wiggle it to get it to work. I've had maybe 20% of chargers with this problem, which might be your problem. Several ChargePoint chargers can take up to 5 minutes to trigger. My Broadcom ChargePoint location has ALWAYS worked perfectly, after having problems with other chargers, and my Prime always charges perfectly on my home L2 charger. I'm therefore reluctant to blame the car. The few EVgo chargers I've used have worked fine. I try to report all problems to ChargePoint, with no effect; to me, it sounds like problematic installations. One location simply removed the charger; we are unfortunately at the very beginning of a proper infrastructure. Note that after decades of use, we still have a pretty crappy cell phone infrastructure. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app. AChoiredTaste.com
This is what I always do every time I charged my car at work. At home I have a scheduled time of charging at 10 pm everyday. Correct me if I'm wrong, so if you DON'T have a scheduled time of charging, then it will always start charging as soon as you plug in the charger?
Okay so just asked another ChargePoint user if she’s having issues with charging this week, and she is. She said apparently CP is updating the software this week at the chargers. I’m glad it’s not my car!!
We have a CP station at our office and so have access to the breakers that power it. I had this same problem (the charger waiting for the vehicle and the Prime not charging) and so we rebooted the charger by cycling the breakers. After that, everything worked perfectly.
