Entune cancelling Pandora...request to complain please.

Hi Prius C owners. Toyota sent out an email stating they are cancelling Pandora from ALL their Entune apps on Nov. 13, 2018. I called Toyota and they confirmed that and they stated it was at Pandora's initiative. I'm asking if everyone can please complain to Pandora (and even Toyota) with a request to reverse this decision. We all know that Entune isn't the greatest app out there for cars and Pandora seems to be one of the best features on it for us. Perhaps if Pandora hears from enough people, they will reverse their decision and keep the feature on Toyota's software platform. Fat chance I know but it's worth a shot. Pandora doesn't do phone calls...only through their webpage do they allow for contacting them. Just search Pandora Contact Support in google and you will find the page to fill out.

    Toyota headquarters # is 800-331-4331

    Thanks for reading.

Huh? A subscription-based company trying to get rid of subscribers? There is more to this story somewhere...

It's the only app I use on Entune.

    same here.

yeah...this is what the manager told me from Toyota when I asked for an explanation and she proceeded to just read the email that was sent to me. I said are you reading the email Toyota sent out. She then stopped and proceeded to give me more information that Pandora initiated the pull out from Entune, making sure she pointed out that the agreement that we all signed to use Entune stated they can pull out anytime. She was super nice though...no issues with her and how she handled the call after I asked for a manager (since the regular representative was fine with saying surface pacification responses). It's a money issue somewhere along the line. Pandora and Toyota need to hear from their customers about this since we're the ones keeping them in business.

It may have something to do with Pandora though if I had to guess. Again this weekend my brother mentioned audio problems with vehicles coming into the shop - specifically Pandora related. My son had said the same for Honda's coming into their dealership.

In a way I guess I don't why it's a big deal with it disappearing on Entune. Can't you just bluetooth it from your phone to your audio system? I do it every day with Pandora or Spotify & I don't even touch my phone. I just call up Siri or Cortana by touching a button on the steering wheel then and tell it to start the app. It's that easy.

Yes, you can do Bluetooth of course...but from my experience the touchscreen in car doesn't show you the artist info or the details on the song if you Bluetooth it...just generic stuff. Also, it's an extra step to whip out the phone and run the program from there and then to the car touchscreen. Just easier to click Pandora from the touchscreen and go. The less obstacles to get to the end result, the better efficiency, especially behind the wheel.

Yeah, I'm just going to get used to connecting to my audio via bluetooth from now on. Oh well. Just another reminder of how crappy Entune is. Maybe this will be the last bit of incentive to replace the stock audio unit with an aftermarket unit that has carplay. (y)

Ahh, there it is. The soothing voice of reason.

Once you realize that carmakers build cars and are completely incompetent at making stereos, everything gets easier.

I don't care if it says Bose, Harman/Kardon, Mark Levinson or McIntosh. If it came to you via a car dealer, it's hideous junk. And there are plenty more names where those came from, those are just a few laughable examples.

Graduate to a proper aftermarket system from a manufacturer who actually depends on selling good audio gear for their paychecks and you'll actually get something useful for a change.

Pandora is spam garbage. Janjo is MUCH better. On Entune Slacker is the best!

Exactly, go get yourself a Carplay or Android Auto unit installed. I didn't spend the money for the upgraded stereo when I bought my 2018 Prius because I knew I was going want a better stereo. I bought and installed the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX.

    Just seen on the news...

SiriusXM is buying Pandora for 3.5 billion. Which may explain the loss of it on Entune after all

This has nothing to do with Entune. EnTune sucks always have and Toyota has finally given up on it.

Entune programmers are the laziest bunch of software developers. I am a software developer. Remember, these folks took away functionaliity in the last update. I called and they will not support "older" models and suggest I get a newer car. What the frack, Toyota? I will buy my car when I want too -- and why can't you lazy developers remove the two icons and restore FF or RW? Oh yeah -- lazy developers.

Yeah...you can Bluetooth it but there are feature it leaves out...such as liking or disliking a song right from the screen. I looked everywhere on the screen when I bluetoothed Pandora and those areas are grayed out.

btw...I spoke with Toyota again today about all this Pandora saga and they said it's not a money issue...it's Pandora's choice for whatever reason. Thanks Pandora! unreal.

That's odd. The ability to thumbs up is there on mine. I just "thumbed up" two more songs this afternoon while in my car and waiting on a train to pass.
