Really! Do you need a subscription for this functionality? Can someone confirm it works on PRIME (and 4Gen Prius) to register new TPMS id? That would be great. Less expensive than Ateq Quickset Tool or any other TPMS scan tools.
I checked and it’s some sort of subscription service, although once I saw that I didn’t go into the details....
Yeah, I remember people talking about Carista to turn off the reverse beep on Prius for subscription fee of $40. You could get free trial period, so many people turned off the reverse beep and terminated subscription before the free period ended. I ended up not purchasing Carista adapter, instead got myself OBDLink LX. EDIT: Just checked it at Toyota Prius PHV/Prime/V 2nd gen | Carista OBD2 supported vehicles | See what’s available for your car - Carista Yes, TPMS id registration would require subscription. (either $40/year or $10/week) If you use it for other functionality, it maybe worth it. Even with annual fee, $40/yr is cheaper than taking a car twice a year to a dealer for tire swap.
I purchased the Carista ODB2 dongle for about $20 which comes with a free 1 month subscription. I figure if I ever need to do something after that expires I just sign up the the $9.95 1 week pass. The other option (if I were to use it a lot) is $39.95/year. So far I just changed the Backup warning to a single beep and turned off the parking sensors when in Neutral to keep them from freaking out in the car wash. Absolutely simple to do. Update: corrected 1 week pass info
JFYI, Current Carista site has the price as $39.99/year and $9.99/1-week pass. Not 1 month pass. Let us know, how it works if you use it for winter tire swap for TPMS registration to ECU.
So, I learned that my scan gauge II also reads tire pressure, cool! Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
