New to the forum, own a 2012 Prius Touring as it's known in Canada. Second owner & loving the car, I can average 3.5L / 100km (67 mpg) in the city & 4.3L / 100km (54.7 mpg) on the highway. I only included the picture of the lights because I thought it was cool, mainly a lurker at the moment, trying to absorb as much as I can before posting. :)

I've been wanting to post pics of my lights on but the HID is just way too bright. You'll only see white on the screen.

Yeah it's hard to take pictures of headlights, I used my SLR and set the camera to F8, ISO 100 & 160th of a second. Wanted as little noise as possible hence the low ISO but needed to have the aperture small & shutter speed fast so that the lights aren't completely over exposed

Love my 18 Prius. Took off wheel inserts and got some tints. Also, added the black appliqué.

It felt like the dealership was trying to keep the Prius Compact hidden. I had to ask five times to see one. 20180905_120547.jpeg 20180905_075609.jpeg

It's not really gold in color. That's actually plasti dip spray, and it's supposed to be pearl. But it came out that way. I'll probably respray it then spray a couple coats of clear to make it shinier.

Proud new owner of a previously meticulously maintained '08. Coming from a 6 spd manual Pontiac Vibe which I was a bit of an enthusiast about and the Prius feels like a perfect upgrade so far. Plus I'm driving more like a grown up should now. IMG_20180908_124510.jpeg IMG_20180908_132257.jpeg IMG_20180908_124721.jpeg

I recently bought a 2006 Prius not knowing much about this type of car, but it was bargain priced because it needs an expensive repair (ABS actuator). I've located a brand new genuine Toyota part online. It's cheaper than from a dealer, but more expensive than a used part. I bought the brand new piece because it seemed like less of a gamble than a used one, which could be dead upon installation, or shortly thereafter, and it's over 5 hours labor to install (I'm not mechanically inclined, so I'd get a mechanic to do it).

Because of the brake problem, I have not driven the Prius very much, but from the limited time behind the wheel, I really like it, and appreciate the technology in it, and the excellent fuel economy. I got the yellowed headlights restored (including reglazing with a UV resistant coating). I'm going to get the car detailed. I already replaced the windshield since the old one was badly cracked. The car was a one-owner (a woman in her early 60s) who always had the car dealer serviced. About 157,000 miles (250,000 kms). I guess she figured with the expensive ABS actuator repair needed and the dealer told her not to drive the car until it's fixed, plus the fact the car is 12 years old with the original traction battery, I guess she figured now was a good time for a change and to get a new car.

Worked out well for me. I had to be quick and reply to the ad for the car as soon as it was listed. They had quite a few calls but I was the first one! I figure by shopping around for a the best deal on parts and labor, I can be into this nice, one-owner, dealer maintained Prius for a few thousand dollars less than what most second generation Prii sell for. Save money on the purchase of the car, and save money on gas! The only other pricey thing that could go wrong with the car is the traction battery. So far, it's fine and will hopefully last a few more years. Then if it goes... choose between selling the car cheaply, or put out the money for a remanufactured or OEM battery and the car should be easily good for another 5-10 years with no car payments and minimal money on maintenance. Or get the ABS actuator replaced, and sell the car for a profit while everything is still working fine. But it just seems like too good of a car to sell and I really like it.

wait...what's that ??? a USB cable on top of the radio ??? what ????

Well, drilled one hole under the gear shift area, ran the cable across and up to the right side of the radio. .Used Mr. Dremel to flatten out the back side of the trim, and made a notch to bring the cable out.. Luckily, there is enough space on the right side of the radio to store about 2-3 feet of extra cable.. works great for when I put my phone in the shown holder with Google Maps running !!!!

    enjoy...

Took home a 2018 Prius Prime Advanced over the weekend. Got my first charge in today after running a line down to the street. Life is good.
