is that the offer everyone receives? It doesn't seem unfair. 30k fluids, rotation, multipoint inspection, etc 35k oil change 40k fluids , etc. 45k oil change roadside assistance to the dealer lol Given 2 oil changes and fluid changes. Anyone able to negotiate it even lower?
My dealer's oil change is $39 and multipoint inspection including fluid top-up are free. When I buy a new set of tires, rotation is free from local tire shop. I think 30K service include cabin and engine filters, but those are less than $20. It is worth no more than $100, IMO.
something wrong with their schedule, oil changes should be every 10k. is toyota not doing 2 free years of toyotacare anymore?
what about cabin filter every 15k and air filter every 30k? rotation should be every 5k, not at 30k only.
We should already be getting 2 years / 25K miles of Toyotacare with the purchase. Anything you are paying for is in excess of that. Are you quoting service specifically above and beyond that?
30k fluids, rotation, multipoint inspection, etc 35k oil change 40k fluids , etc. 45k oil change roadside assistance to the dealer lol --The mileage is wrong. Oil changes are every 10k or 1 year, so the first change you'd pay for after the prepaid Toyotacare would be at 30k, not 35. --Get some figures from a shop you trust, hopefully less greedy than the dealer, for those four jobs. Find what the sum of those charges would be. 3 quarts of synthetic oil per change, etc. You can top up your own windshield washer fluid, view the levels of the two coolant reservoirs, you have a level sensor on the brake fluid...what else is needed? Tire rotations every 5k were mentioned above. --Many already have roadside assistance on their car insurance which will tow the car to any nearby shop, not just a dealership. There's times I'd rather go elsewhere, like if I need a tire on a Saturday, etc. My rule of thumb is that everything the dealer sells except the car is greatly overpriced. New cars have a low profit margin. The money is made on the extras and the service. The so-called finance manager is paid by commission only, so part of what he sells is his pay--out of your pocket and into his--not for the service but for the salesmanship.
I think OP is talking about the additional plan you can purchase after your FREE Toyotacare ends at 24k or 2yrs. That's why he's quoting those mileage figures.
Yap, that's what I gathered. Toyota Care Plus covers after FREE Toyota Care runs out. Prepaid Maintenance Plans | Toyota Financial
Correct. I just received the flier. Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll just take care of the items myself.
It really depends on if you value free tire rotation and a piece of mind with regards to warranty. Service for Synthetic Oil Change usually cost anywhere from 50-70 bucks. The average seems to be about 60 dollars for an oil and filter change. 60 x 4 (regularly scheduled maintenance) = 240 bucks. The question is 89 dollars worth the savings over 75,000 miles?
