    Thank you.
There had been some buzz in another forum about the Honda Clarity. I didn't pay much attention until this report. So I took a quick look: Compare Side-by-Side

The Honda Clarity is really a Volt competitor, not a Prius Prime challenger. The Prime remains the efficiency champ, not as large but a nimble, efficient car. Only the Prius 25 mi EV range gives the Clarity and Volt an advantage IF local conditions requires double the EV range of the Prime. That is not something a general review can address. Actually there is a 'donut' range as the Prius shines outside of 90 mile range.

That 90 mile range is a good point. So the question becomes how regularly does One make Drives outside the 90 mile range. Once that issue is considered, the 90 mile frequency itself becomes another consideration. We went out on a date & tested the clarity. No lumbar support adjustments. That was a real head-scratcher for us older folks that rely on all that we can get in that regard - but its roominess WAS pretty nice - even for my 6'-5" clunkiness.

prime for a nice efficient reliable car at a good/great price.

volt for similar with more ev/less hv.

clarity for more ev and more interior space, trunk instead of hatch.

not sure about pricing, as these are canadian.

My grandkids are 50 miles away and, after we get there, who knows where we may want to go. The need to return home thus probably exceeds 100 miles between charges. Add in winter, rain, snow, etc and a nominal 200 mile EV range is needed.

One NFL lineman, one ordinary sized wife and a 6 foot driver. Room for 4 coolers for a COSTCO run since the grandkids live a half mile from one.

Those are things my Prius v does easily and for a reasonable purchase price with some small portion of green consciousness and low running costs.

Now tell me again why I want to spend this kind of money to "upgrade"?

It's a real bummer they are doing away with the Prius V. Man, I can't believe how many tons of taxi drivers use them around here.
