AFAIK XC60s with a plug-in hybrid powertrain weren't even available in most european countries.

 

That could be. I use "hit" because Volvo was caught off guard by the demand where it was available, and, IIRC, sold double their projections the first year. Though those projections were sedate compared to GM's and Toyota's for the first Volt and PiP.

 

Now the theCountryman PHEV is out 4 years late and has an EPA 12 EV / 27mpg has anyone determined the real tech specs
Like how much battery is used
Wthrs per mile at 25mph flat
EV only performance metrics
Gas Performance metrics
Driver feedback for energy use
Etc?

Thus far I have not seen anyone evaluate the thing in any useful way.

I somehow doubt it only goes 12 EV miles at city speeds but who knows?

 

12 sounds like a high number to me because how much room is there for a battery. It might be the size of a briefcase since the car is hardly bigger than a Costco shopping cart. Remember the Toyota Scion IQ ev? It only had a range of about 50 miles & didn't have to Lug around an ICE .

 

Battery has as much usable capacity as a prime, which is why I’m asking these strange questions

Might as well be. That the 50 mile range is on Japan's test. It is only 30 or 32 on the EPA.
