That wouldn't have affected the ICS alone - it would have just stopped.

As suggested, could have been the ICS sensors covered or dirty. There is enough petrol for more than that distance - I test drove mine the day after it turned up at the dealership, was in the holding yard, all they did was wash the windows before I test drove it. I remember the salesman commenting about the petrol - the needle had moved off "E" and the low fuel light didn't show.

As someone who has picked up many Toyotas from the port, Toyota puts at least 3 gallons in every car. They would risk destroying the fuel pumps otherwise.

I didn't realize the thread continued after my last update. The dealer (#1) texted me after he returned from his days off that "the Prius was fixed. It was a fuse that was not installed right." Whatever that means... As I mentioned in my previous update, I made a purchase from another dealer for a better price. Just picked her up on Saturday. I'm enjoying every trip (drove 105 miles total) so far. So fun to drive! Attached is a photo of my new ride when I picked her up. The dealer (#2) can't park, but he filled up the tank prior to my arrival.

Or maybe he used the Intelligent Park Assist ;) It backs the car in perfectly centred (sometimes) between the two cars either side. So if they're parked badly, you will be too!

Nope, I'm too type A to allow myself a poor parking job.

Should have a full tank!! Just before I say "yep, you've got the deal" - I ask "I assume it will have a full petrol tank?". Never been denied. The one time I forgot - it had enough to get me to the local petrol station.

Though - my suspicion is that they know how to save a few litres and still the gauge will show full. Top it off before you try serious MPG testing, first tank will be suspect.

I didn't even think to ask! The gas gauge on my new Prius finally started dropping from full bar after I drove >100 miles, so my guess is they did fill the tank up!

    Hi:
ICS Malfunction refers to the pre-collision system in the Prius. It may just need to be calibrated, but make sure they fix it. I got this message after a body shop removed my front bumper for repairs. If they fixed it, I would feel comfortable with the car. Good Luck.

ICS is separate from PCS FYI.

I realize this is an old thread but I just saw it today for the first time and thought I would add a comment in case something simmilar happens to another person. If a person is not happy with the results of a test ride, They should not proceed with the purchase of that car. It is YOUR test ride after all.
