Ya think? Mirai leases in California = ~3000 in 3 years - Tesla model 3 sales in California = ~3000 in 3..................... days.

Nor in over 90% of the "woods," I'd wager. A new complicated delivery system of highly volatile energy, just what we're all clamoring for.

There must be a reason 3,000 plus have sold! I happen to like the look of it and I have driven one as well. Let's hope Tesla does not collapse and leave the fans stranded. There is more to a car company then just the car

Technically, it is an EV, albeit one that doesn't refuel by charging from the grid.

If you want apples to apples, the closest car is the Camry.
    • same performance
    • Camry costs less to fuel
    • Camry can seat five
    • Camry has larger trunk with fold down seats
    • Camry costs less than half as much as the Mirai.
We could use the ES if you feel the Camry isn't luxurious enough, but all the above statements remain true.
And these aren't even the hybrid models.

What is is with the 5 seats? How often does anyone have 5 persons in a car, most cars that seat 5 have a hump in the middle! 4 seats is good for 90% of the car buying public.

I wonder if the 3000 Mirai leased in California had anything to do with Toyota giving them away for $350/mo lease plus free hydrogen? I wonder how much Toyota has lost on this project? Let's hope Toyota does not collapse and leave the fanboys stranded when they shut down their hydrogen refueling stations.

Thank you for pointing out another advantage of a BEV (y) No hump in the middle, front seat or back seat = more usable interior space for passengers.

It provides flexibility, could mean the difference between taking one or two cars, and is the safest place for a child's seat.
