Cup holder is not big enough to fit a giant Stanley Thermos

Discussion in 'Prime Accessories and Modifications' started by Deleted member 111882, Jul 8, 2018.

  1. What kind of accessory can I get to fit into the Prime's cup holders so that I can fit one giant Stanley thermos snuggly?

Also, where are people putting their sunglasses? There's no place beside the speed thingy to just reach forward for them when I need them.

I gotta add those questions to my Prius List of Shame.

Sorry, I'm just messin with ya.

Sunglasses in the glove box, or hang them on the front of your shirt, and maybe buy a smaller size Thermos just for the car? :) Please don't ask where to hang a trash bag! :ROFLMAO:

How about a smaller cup and glasses on your face. :)

I'm trying to figure out what I can store up there, because none of my sunglasses fit.

It’s really a churro warming oven;).

Particularly in the summer near Disneyland:).

Some people just happen to use it to store glasses (y).

My last car had even smaller cup holders and I was planning to get this, but then I traded it in for the Prime:

My 1980's style "Miami Vice" sunglasses just won't fit.

  10. Smaller thermos is not big enough to last me through the day, so, I would like to have a bigger thermos with me that stands straight up in the cup holder.

    Dimensions of giant Stanley Thermos - 3.80 L x 4.50 W x 14.25 H inches

Also, I have one pair of sunglasses that will not fit in that small contraption. The Prius c had a holder behind the steer where I could just reach forward, grab 'em, and put 'em on quick or take 'em off quick.

Well, so no one has found any product that converts two small cup holders to one much larger cup holder?

a quick google brought up a bunch. you just have to figure out if they will work.

top-heavy might be an issue with hard braking.

swigzy car cupholder expander on amazon looks interesting. just hits the 3.8" though.

smartcup is another, but 3.8" seems to be the cutoff for some reason.

Actually, I "hang" my sunglasses on my nose when driving. They function better that way. ;)

You (as you noted yourself) have two cup holders - you can have 2 mugs - keep one in each holder! Only twice as much money to buy and twice as much effort to clean... but on the other hand (literally), you could have one for each hand!

Actually, there are advantages - you can take one with you for the first half of the day and have the second one waiting, or have 2 different kind of beverages. Additionally, since the second bottle stays sealed while you drink out of the first, your overall thermal efficiency increases :mad:

Anyway, I use one very similar to this 20 oz Zojirushi one and it's awesome at keeping things hot or cold...
