I've searched and searched and I can see that pre Gen4 this wasn't overly complicated with just replacing the stalk and running a wire or two. I can't seem to find any posts where someone tried adding this to a Gen4 model II that didn't come with the auto-on. Anyone know if i can do this or am i stuck with an aftermarket kit to do this?

    Thanks in advance
    Justin

You'd need to install both sensors as well. It would also need to be programmed, possibly needing a different computer or computer module - I'm not sure how they work.

I suspect it would be better to upgrade to a version which has it already installed.

Don't do it, it's not worth the time/money/effort. Here in the UK we don't have an "OFF" position on the switch, if we did I would turn them off, I'm quite capable of deciding when to switch the lights on. They are very annoying, especially when going under a bridge where they momentarily come on, the driver in front thinking you're flashing them, Also they don't work well under dull conditions where headlights are a requirement, like when it's raining.

When I first heard about that I was in disbelief. Sometimes I think we're moving backwards. :(
