    definitely personal. i would never take someone's word for car seat comfort. i did have a taurus, and the seats were fine.

    In Portugal Lexus line-up still lists the GS, both 300h and 450h. But presents the new ES.

    Avensis T27 and Camry V50 (-2017) were not so different, the Avensis sedan had 2700mm wheelbase and 4695mm length, while the Camry had 2775mm and 4850mm respectively.

    The 2018 Camry is a new Generation. 111.2 in (2824mm) wheelbase and 192.1 in (4879mm) in length. so it is slightly larger than the 2017 one. The XSE is slightly longer again, with the same wheelbase.

    The topic of this thread is the 2018 Camry, not the older 2017 one.

    I just switched from 3 Prius' to a 2018 Camry LE Hybrid. My wife wanted a little more comfort and quiet ride. we also wanted all the safe driving features. Just completed the first 1000 miles, first tank 52.3 mpg mostly around town. the amazing part is it is a bigger car and it has a combined HP of 208 as compared with the 121 HP on the Prius. If all the car makers follow it will take care of imported oil problem and the cost of gas will go down. I heard Ford is planning to have hybrid versions of its cars in a few years including the F150.

    Let's take a different approach, let's look at the dimensions of the main competition in the Avensis and Camry's class, decreasing order of manufacturer sales.

    Volkswagen:
    VW Passat: 2791 mm wheelbase, 1832 mm wide, 4767 mm long, 1456 mm tall
    Škoda Superb: 2841 mm wheelbase, 1864 mm wide, 4861 mm long, 1468 mm tall

    PSA:
    Peugeot 508 (outgoing): 2817 mm wheelbase, 1853 mm wide, 4792 mm long, 1456 mm tall
    Peugeot 508 (upcoming): 2790 mm wheelbase, 1859 mm wide, 4750 mm long, 1403 mm tall
    Opel Insignia: 2829 mm wheelbase, 1863 mm wide, 4897 mm long, 1455 mm tall (aka the Buick Regal in the US)

    Renault Talisman: 2810 mm wheelbase, 1870 mm wide, 4850 mm long, 1460 mm tall

    Ford Mondeo: 2850 mm wheelbase, 1852 mm wide, 4869 mm long, 1476 mm tall (aka the Ford Fusion in the US, except the Fusion is a sedan instead of a liftback)

    Toyota Avensis: 2700 mm wheelbase, 1810 mm wide, 4695 mm long, 1480 mm tall
    Toyota Camry (upcoming, specs are I think US): 2820 mm wheelbase, 1840 mm wide, 4880 mm long, 1440 mm tall

    And then it just gets lower from there. But the Camry is pretty comparable to everything else in the class nowadays, the Avensis is actually the odd one out.

    Very similar situation to ours. Went from a 2010 Prius 2 to the 2018 Camry Hybrid LE, mostly for my wife's issues with the uncomfortable Prius seats.

    I find that the Camry has so much more power and comfort than the Prius, and the mpg is just as good. Very happy with it.

    Please note you are comparing consumption to a 8 year old car. 4 Gen Prius (current) slashed its own previous generation by 10%...

    Yeah but the Camry always had more power than the Prius and was always more comfortable.

    I'm having a couple of issues with my 2018 Camry Hybrid LE, perhaps someone reading this could share some wisdom or, at least, confirm that their car is doing the same thing.
    1. a single click whenever I press the accelerator. This happens in Drive or Reverse, but not Neutral, so I don't believe it is mechanical. It sounds like a switch being activated, like when the brake pedal is lightly pressed, except this click is significantly louder. I took it into my dealership, and they assured me it was normal. I've owned a Prius Plug-In and two Prius Cs and I've never heard such a click before. Does anyone else have this?

    2. brakes make a storage noise. I've scoured PriusChat for a similar story, but I couldn't find one. When slowing down from low speeds, I hear what sounds like a faint popping (pa-pa..pa) sound in the brakes, sounding like a faint rubbing of a balloon, coming from the pedal area. I can also feel it in the pedal somewhat. I can't hear it outside the car, and the sound isn't heard in the engine bay. I can recreate the sound when the car is off and I lightly press the pedal, though it is constantly only two little pops then. It doesn't happen every time I slow down, and sometimes it is a good bit louder than others. I took this into the dealer with just over 400 miles on the odometer, and they deemed it to be a bad master cylinder. After waiting two weeks for the repair (two of the replacement master cylinders cam in damaged), they finally put it back together and bled the brakes. Joy, I took it home and drove it around the next day and the sound was back! SO, I took it back in, and this time the service manager rode with me in the car and assured me it was a normal sound after all. It doesn't make sense, of course, because it was a bad master cylinder the first time for the exact same sound. Inconsistencies aside from the service department, does anyone else's Camry Hybrid make a light, irregular, popping sound in the brakes when coming to a stop?

    That buzzing noise is the brake accumulator pump, completely normal. (You'll get the same noise when you open the driver's door after the car's been sitting for a while.)

    The click sounds like a relay of some kind, but not sure.

    My 2018 Camry Hybrid LE brake pedal doesn’t make the same sound as when the driver’s side door is opened. It doesn’t make any sound. :)

    My 2010 Prius made the same buzzing sound when opening the driver's door, so I'm familiar with that sound.

    @contravox - I'm the same Spindifferent as the one over at the other Toyota forum.

    @CamryDriver - any such sounds from your unit?

    So, here's an update on the sounds in my video. I was invited by Toyota HQ to go to another dealership so I could drive a Camry Hybrid LE just like mine (but with 3400 miles on the odometer instead of my 1400) to see if the sounds I was hearing were also present in the other car...and they were! I was actually surprised at hearing them, because I thought for sure that the gas pedal shouldn't be audible like that and that the brakes were having issues modulating down, as the master cylinder had been replaced three weeks ago for making the same brake sound. After hearing the exact same noises in the exact same conditions as in my car, I can only surmise that these sounds are normal. Perhaps my hearing is a bit more acute than others since I'm a classical musician? Maybe I've found two cars in a row with the exact same problems? Or, maybe I should just relax and turn up the radio to cover up the sounds. lol I'm cool with the accumulator sound, as I've heard that in my Prius Plug-in and my Prius C, but the pah-pah...pah sound and the gas pedal switch sounds are new to me and, IMHO, probably shouldn't be so noticeable on a 30k dollar car. Oh well, it's a lease. I'm still holding out hope that there will be a service bulletin to address these issues, as the car is otherwise awesome and precisely what I wanted. What I would still like to know is what on earth is making that click so I can cover it with some sound deadening material. Anyone know?

    Hi bisco, I have a YouTube recording posted about five posts up from this one. FWIW, the click gets louder when more power is being funneled through the system on the highway.
