I've written and attached a review of the new MEG stabilizer bars. There really is a stiffening of the body that makes the Prime even more fun to drive. (I'm cross-posting in the Gen4 and Prime forums because the same bars fit on the same TNGA chassis)
I'll be curious to hear someone with a Gen 4 Touring and MEG bars take it out on the track. The Prime is heavier but the centre of gravity is probably a touch higher since the battery is mounted higher up in the body than the regular Gen 4s. However, weight distribution is better on the Prime. Thanks for the review, Tony!
Tony, Thanks for the write-up. Sounds like a pretty decent product that might be in line to be put on Evey for the next 500K like the mods I did to Ema. Unfortunately this company doesn't have a website or any other way to actually buy them, lol. I don't Tweet or FaceSpace or any of that social garbage so if a company doesn't actually sell their products online or somewhere they can't be purchased. Happy driving, Chris
Dear Chris and Lucifer, Thank you for your comment and suggestion. Currently our website is still under construction and that’s why we have promoted our product through FB first. You can purchase our product through this link: https://goo.gl/forms/NzK4EkR6oaceyK6m1 Thx again and have a nice day!!
Your website is not going to help you much. There is no indication of what vehicle(s) your product fits or that you seem to only have products for a small number of vehicles. If I had found your website by accident, I would have gone elsewhere even if I was interested in your product.
Hello Prodigyplace, The website has stated the product is for Prius Prime and Gen 4. As PS1 stabilizers is new to USA market, we will put up more reviews on the website after more installations. Currently there are over 300 users in Taiwan under a different product name, that’s why we are confident about our product, will take time to develop new market. Please feel free to join our lucky draw on FB fan club search MEGCORPTW to get PS1 for free, thank you for your comment, we will continue to improve.
Tony - thanks for your review of the MEG Stabilizers which helped me decide to purchase them. I've had them installed about two weeks and their performance is as you've reviewed. I should note that my dealer - Toyota World of Clinton NJ - installed them in under a half hour for ~$77.00 with no issues. I asked for the stock bars just to hang onto them which they gladly put in the car after install. The Prime is stiffer and more controlled in cornering and curves which is what I wanted. You feel more confident especially if the stock body roll was dis-concerning to how you expect to drive. All in all I'm glad I purchased them and Danial at MEG was terrific to work with... thanks!
I'm not understanding what stiffer bars will do. They seem to be a ridge structural member. Do the stock bars flex that much??? Is the entire unibody that loose and flexing? I understand what stiffer SWAY bars might do regarding body roll in turns, but not these.
Dear The Big Sleaze, Kindly check the following technical thread from Will the Engineer for your reference: Meg Stabilizer Bar Review | PriusChat Basically it's the 7075 material and design which helps the car to handle stress, calibration and balancing the vehicle
I read it. I'm still not getting it. Are the OEM bars flexing all over the place, and the whole unibody along with it? Very hard to believe. I remember hearing about how much stiffer unibody was back in 1970s. Hard to believe more metal in that location would make any diffs. Call me cynical but IMO someone just saw the one place where an Aftermarket framing member could be produced and bolted on, and decided to sell it, and made some claims. I do agree the Prime could use some help in handling. Some Youtube reviewer said the extra 300lbs of batts was noticeable and I'd have to agree. Car feels like its got two people in back even when empty. He mentions another review which is more about handling and less about aluminum grades. Got a link?
