    I have the Intelligent Discharger, so no bulbs;).

    @WilDavis , @JC91006 or @jerrymildred might be able to offer tips with the bulbs(y)

    The bulb discharger takes a looong time to complete. I hope you'll be down to 134w by the time you go to bed tonight.
    You will also need a set of 25w bulbs for the lower voltages, you won't be able to go down under 134v with the 40w bulbs. I normally switch to 25w bulbs when I get to 180w.

    I got it down to 86v today and am now in the charging process. It’s reading 221v as I type now. Each block voltage is around 15.6/15.7. Is it safe to leave plugged in overnight? It’s 37 degrees F here in Pittsburgh, so no heat worries. The fan is also running.

    Sounds like you have it nailed! If you check through past threads you'll learn why I eventually went with the IntelligentDischarger - the bulbs, although they work just as well, are a bit of a PIA to deal with (particularly the hot 200Watters at the beginning - although the heat problem can be alleviated by the use of the MajikExtenshunKord) - cool temps during charging are good for the TractionBattery! Tip: Long charges are good, I've found that some of the charges I've done can take up to ~30 hours! :eek:

    My timing was very good when I checked up on our 2010:

    Just finished the top end balance as the charge was holding steady at ~238 volts for several hours:):

    Onwards to 84 volts;).

    Should be in about 5 hours (y).

    Just completed the second and last discharge cycle :):

    Wasn’t as fortunate this round to catch the voltage as it was completing :(.

    But the process is still easy(y).

    It sat at 238-239 for 5 hours, so I’m calling it;).

    Whole process started at 9 PM Thursday and done 9:30 AM Sunday for a 2 cycle reconditioning:).

    The charger will display the voltage and when you see the voltage stable (within 1-2 volts for ~4-6 hours), you’re good:).

    Mind sharing a little bit about your situation:

    • How many miles on your Prius?
    • What led to getting a Prolong setup?
    • What area of the country you are in?

    Thank for quick replying,
    My Prius is about 240K miles.
    It is just preventive.
    I am in SoCal.

    After 15 hrs The Prolong's meter shows 236v and 332A. Is it good ?

    It’s probably 0.332 amps or 332 mA;).

    Is this the first top end balance before you recondition?
    How many reconditioning cycles are you going to do?
    Have you been checking the voltage periodically?
    How long has it been at 236 volts?

    At 236 volts, it might be done, but I’d leave it on for a couple more hours:).

    It's 332mA.
    This is first top and balance. I do not plan to do the recondition that take too much time and the battery is still healthy.
    It's at 236v for couple hours.

    Not sure what ambient temps are there, but if the voltage has been stable, I’d call it good:).

    Ambient temps affect the top out voltage, so if somewhat warm, it will be slightly less;).

    Don’t forget once you take the charger off to let your Prius sit for a bit before taking it out(y).

    What @Raytheeagle said.

    I also agree that, since it seems healthy, topping it off is sufficient. Instructions say to let it sit at least a half hour before starting the car. I'd wait at least an hour. I've also thought about maybe next time hooking up the discharger for a few minutes and then letting it cool for a while after pulling the charge down a little.

    This is update message:
    I did 4 times of charging to my battery in 5 weeks. And seeing : the more I charge the battery the smoother acceleration I have. Therefore I am wondering: how often can I charge HV battery ?
