I recently purchased a 2009 Prius with a bad inverter with intent to replace it. The model number on the inverter in the car is G9200-47111 and I purchased a used one from eBay that said it is for a 2009 with the model number G9200-47120. Does anyone know why this is? Are they interchangeable?
Yes they are interchangeable. The 47120 was an updated unit to correct an inverter failure problem on 47100-47111. Follow these TSB's it's possible your hybrid control ECU is the problem. It is also very possible your inverter is bad. I'm working on a '04 today that has this issue, needs the inverter replaced. I bought one from a junkyard over a year ago, I was happy I finally get to sell it, then checked the part number, it's the 47111 unit!! Now i know to check this part number and make sure its the 47120 I'll update on here when I finish this one...
What part numbers can I get to replace my 2014 UK Prius plus inverter g9200-47220, does it have to be the same number or can it vary, it's difficult to find the exact part number, have the fault code P0A94 and car won't go into drive
Hello everyone, I have a P0A7A failure on my 2008 10th anniversary prius, the problems seem to be the inverter which is in question. It is in references: G9200-47111, I see on the discussion that I could replace it with a better one. Which one can I take without changing anything else? Thanks in advance.
Hi @Myrly The first question I have is how did you get the code? Are you confident the code was read accurately? If so, the second question is what was the subcode? I believe there are 14 or 15 subcodes for the P0A7A to help diagnose. Most subcodes lead to the inverter, wiring, HV ecu or transaxle as possible culprits, so jumping right to the inverter may be a bold assumption.
I read the codes with programs on my phone and an OBDLink LX socket, I can't get sub codes with these "generic" programs. The car after starting and pressing EV, moves forward and backwards but as soon as the thermal starts with knocks there is a hissing noise in the engine compartment and then it stops and the codes always come back
