    Haha I’m pretty determined to keep the car for as long as possible. But, my dad said as long as I’m happy it doesn’t matter he will complain about my year choice though

    But you can show him just how much you are saving--and the longer you keep the Prime--the better the savings. By then, you will be married and it won't be his issue any longer LOL!

    Could you claim the remainder in following year(s)? Sorry for making you the US Certified Tax Accountant today, lol.

    Regular Prius is not in the running?

    I have a regular Prius now, the excellent driving range is what’s drawing me to prime. Plus the tax incentive

    @Mendel Leisk I guess @ClemsonSteve has the answer (cause I didn't, ha!)

    If you can get the tax credit, then the Prime is worth it (plus the discounts from NJ if you don't mind a bit of travel).

    Otherwise, the Gen 4 Prius is pretty darn efficient too.

    I called them today, who did you speak with if you remember? And if you don't mind me asking, what was the "out the door" price on the car?

    I “settled” for a Premium and I am having buyers remorse. Go for the Advanced if you can swing it! I didn’t know there was a difference in the Toyota Safety packages for the Prime between the Premium and the Advanced.
    So those things, and the fact that you also get the heated steering wheel and everything else, along with the depreciation factor hit for the 2017, in hindsight, I’m still kicking myself for not going for the Advanced. (Plus if I had the better safety sensing package I might have avoided the driveway collision with the flagpole along with it being in the collision center for 3 weeks, an $8,000+ repair bill for a fender replacement, and increased insurance premiums secondary to the accident with the flag pole in my own driveway!!!

    My salesman was Amar--hard to understand sometimes but did exactly what he said he would do. MSRP $34,243--dealer discount $3,000--Toyota rebate $3,000--Processing fee $300--Tax, Title, Tag $80 (no taxes in NC because my trade was worth more than the Prime). Total OTD $28,623. This does not include the $4500 tax credit.

    Holy crap thats a great price haha. I'm trying to get my OTD under 30, but if I could get it close to what you got I'd be golden.

    We are actually going to DC on the 9th of June, and they have 10 on the lot still. If need be I can put down a $500 deposit to secure the car.

    Exactly--that's what I did--$500 to hold the car after I negotiated the deal. Send Westy72658 a message--he bought one from Jim Coleman as well and received a very similar deal.
