Go to the dealer websites, not the Toyota site. Although you can use the Toyota site to find dealers in a particular area by typing in the zip code, you will get a list of dealers and links to their websites. Each dealer website is a little different but most of them you click New Inventory and then you can filter by model and you will get a list of cars in stock, or at least supposedly in stock at that dealer. There are other websites that people use also which can be useful if you are searching in a wide area like multi-state.

I live in Colorado and I went to Rochester NY to buy my car. I went back last week and the deals we're incredible. Price of a new Premium was $29,000. Costco discount $1,000. Toyota incentive on 2017 models $5,000. Federal tax deduction is $4,500 and it you live and title the car in Colorado you get $5,000 credit. Total deduction are $15,500. $29,000 - $15,500 is $13,500. Then there is the tax that you pay and that is $3,000 depending on where you live. Total cost $16,000. I was at the dealership last week. There are a bunch of Premiums and Advanced

It is a credit, not a deduction. A credit is usually much better than a deduction.

I would say the looks are more polarizing. People either love or hate the looks. Very few neutral opinions. #2 seller behind Tesla isn’t so bad. BEV and PHEV still are still needing more market acceptance. It is growing each year.

I had some negative equity as well, and was able to flip that around with a 2017 Prime and a $3000 rebate, $3500 off sticker, and $4500 Federal tax credit. My advice to you, after learning the hard way myself, is to keep the Prime until it dies. My plan is to keep mine until something major dies, while maintaining it perfectly and parking her in the garage. I suspect the first thing to go will be the main battery—and if the car is otherwise in great shape, I will replace the battery and drive another 5 years. Here we go—let’s see just how many miles before something major needs replacing.

Same for me in northern North Carolina (very near the Virginia border). With a full charge/battery life remaining, my ICE has never come on regardless of what I've done. This is without charging any of the drive settings--default is EV (as we all know). With battery life remaining and changing to EV Auto, the ICE will come on at various times as advertised. But I do not experience the same issues as bwilson….

I recently purchased a 2017 Prime from Jim Coleman Toyota in Bethesda, Maryland. I plan to keep it until something major dies--let's see just how far it will go!

That’s a great question. I’m actually referring to the main battery failure or an engine failure—something in the drivetrain—the failure of which would be catastrophic to the operation of the vehicle. But I do plan to report all of my issues as the months and years go by under another thread I started earlier today.

I plan to go as long as the car will. Not sure which will give up first--me, or the Prime LOL!

engine should last a long time, with the little use it gets. mine is 6 years old and like new, never done anything except oil, filters and tires, but i only have 56,000 miles.
how many miles a year do you drive?

I got $4500 from my dealer. Too good to pass up. Plus $2500 for trade in. Add the $1100 from NY state and $4500 in tax credit next year. This was one sweet deal!

This is such a good car, without the ev bonus. It’s sofuel efficient that anyone who has a longer commute to work or just trying to spend less for gas should really consider this car. Having said that, I have seen 4 primes today in my area. 1- white, 1 red, and 2 blues. Nice!

    Well the reasons are obvious:
    1. Needs a rear wheel drive option
    2. Needs a solar cell roof option
    3. Needs a rain and temperature window crack and close option
    4. Needs a 2" receiver hitch and trailer light option
      • spare tire option using receiver
