Hey everyone! I'm thinking about buying a Toyota Prius 2011 with 69k miles, and has a salvaged title. I have seen multiple reports of people reporting problems, should i avoid it? It seems the price is right, however you guys got me thinking about the issues that people have been having. What's everyone's experience with the 2011?? I currently have a 2006 and i love it!
You're in a CARB state, so you get the extended traction battery warranty. I have read that a salvage Prius may not have a traction warranty. Giving up 3 years would be a big sacrifice to make for a lower price. I'd call Toyota North America customer service to get the details.
two issues; if you don't diy and there is hidden damage, it can get expensive. 2011, best bet, clean the egr and intake, and install an oil catch can.
There's your answer. Looks like you don't need a 2011, or another vehicle. Certain insurance companies won't insure a salvage title car, if they do, only liability and you could also be paying jacked up premium rates. And I won't go there if it's got structural damage.
I have a 2010 Prius with ~85k on it and have only had an issue with the 12v battery about 2 years ago. *Knock on wood* Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
