Not unless you have the add on tire maintenance. My tire blew when I bought the car with a license tag screw from the dealer in less than 6 hours....nope they will not!

 

Nope. Maybe I'm living dangerously, but I would just take that wheel off, and plug-repair, through the outside, and air them up with a bicycle pump.

I've got one OEM tire that had a finishing nail in the tread, and one snow tire that had a bolt similar to your picture. I plug repaired them both 4~5 years back, no further problems.

Getting professional repair is not that expensive, maybe $20~30 BUT, if it's within an inch of the tread edge they may refuse. The pros now tend to use an inside plug, that is more secure, but can't be used close to the edge of tread. That was the scenario that tipped me to procure an old-school plug repair kit.

I went with BlackJack kit; there's lots of good names though.

 

And don't forget to tip your waitress.

 

I had a small nail in mine. Took it off, took it to Costco and they repaired it for $11. with a plug. Seems to be fine now.

 

I'll see you taking tire off and taking it to Costco offer to Calling AAA and having tow truck put my car on the tow truck bed then driving to the nearest Belle Tire and Belle Tire charging me a grand total of $10.00

 

Yeah but you miss out on all the DIY fun?

 

When you replace that set of tyres, buy them from a shop that will repair free, rotate free, etc. Like here in western Canada, Kal TIre. Or is that Kal Tyre?

 

Like the "donut" spares, the "repair kit" is intended ONLY as a temporary, emergency measure.
It is NOT intended as a permanent fix.

P.S. Using it to get home probably would have been a LOT easier and quicker than changing the tire.

 

You might pay a little more for a Firestone repair but I know they take the tire off and put a patch on the inside.

I got "screwed" yesterday, too!

I a remote part of Arizona, 200 miles from home. I was able to pump it up at a gas station jst enough to limp to a Big O Tires j1/2 hour before they closed, and had to pay $22 for a repair.

I thought I had an air pump in the car, but I just had the dealer kti which I hope to never use; I'm told that stuff will also mess up the tire pressure sensor.

NOW, I have an air pump in the car.

 

Bad choice. Expect to be told that your tyre is trashed.

Next time stop as soon as it is safe and use the repair kit

 

I've read that internet crap too, but it most certainly does not apply to the goo our kit contains. A much more certain risk is damaging your tyre from driving on it with inadequate inflation.

 

It seems we are beta A testing these prii with no spares.

Until the tires that are flawless are introduced.
