Bought a copy of the January 1967 Road & Track for an article on my first passion, the first-gen Mercury Cougar, and found an article on my second, electric vehicles. Interesting historical piece:
my brother had several. i always thought it was a great car, and got a bad rap from ralph whatsisname. but a corvair with a modern battery and motor, that would be incredible.
The lead cobalt powered Mars electric cars were on the road about that time also. Vanguard was also making little 4’ wide electric Jeepster like contraptions. Later in 1973 they became Vanguard Sebring and made cars similar to my 1981 Comutacar.
