Hey, I am planning to get a prime soon. I already havehave two cars(a sports luxury car and a camry). At this pointpoint wewe don't really need another car but I am getting tax credit and my 2004 camry getting older. Had two questions 1- if I were to sell this vehicle after first year, which one would keep its value? 2- does advanced package add a lot?
If you're selling it after a year, I suggest not buying one but hey, I'm not your accountant (and I see what you're doing there with the tax credit and I wish you luck). The Advanced adds a lot of stuff compared to the base model (also note, there is a middle Premium trim level that adds part of the stuff too but since you're asking Advanced vs. Plus, I will list all the differences) Automatic Headlights (Auto On/Off) LED Foglights LED Accent Lights Rain-Sensing Wipers Smart Charging Cable Lock 3-Door Smart Key Heated Steering Wheel 10-Way Power Driver's Seat (that incl. 2-way power lumbar support) SofTex-Trimmed Interior SofTex-Wrapped Armrests Soft-Touch Upper Front Door Trim 11.6" HD (1920x1080) Vertical LCD Touchscreen Entune Premium JBL Audio w/ 8 GreenEdge Speakers in 6 Locations HD Predictive Traffic & Doppler Weather Overlay AM/FM Cache Radio Gracenote Album Cover Art Prime Apps (Charging Station Map, Remote Charge Management, Remote Climate, Eco Dashboard, Vehicle Finder) Roller-Type Tonneau Cover Qi Wireless Smartphone Charger Safety Connect Telematics Intelligent Clearance Sonar (8 sonars with low speed collision detection and autobrake) Intelligent Parking Assist (4 additional sonars) Colour Head-Up Display Blind Spot Monitor Rear Cross Traffic Alert
welcome! they'll keep about the same value, based on purchase price, and where gas prices are when you are ready to sell.
I never thought about it before. This is a nice trick to save money. Buy it this year when there is tax credit and sell it next year or after few years when the same car does not get any tax credit. Then the resale value will be much higher as people will compare it to the cost of the car then (which won't have tax benefit any more). Way to go!
I thought there's enough credits for Toyota that there will still be some around next year? So you'd have to hold it on for longer than that (or purchase later).
