Will be interesting to see what system is used for the folding mechanism: one system seems to work with the ignition and folds on-off with start-shutdown of engine. The other has a dedicated button usually on the door or dash. Some JDM cars seem to have both options. Prefer the second system as works when double-parking hems you into a tight squeeze while driving. But not too choosy--will take either gladly.

I think the kit that Hybridpit is installing has the switch that will fill a blank spot on the left side of the steering wheel.

Unfortunately the damage done to ur mirror requires a new housing. The signal mirrors only replace the chrome strip.

If u are going to replace the mirror, here is some advise: but the cheapest replacement mirror u can find. Even if it doesn’t have BSM. All u need is the housing. U can swap all of ur internals to the replacement mirror housing.

The system I will be installing with have a button on the dash to allow the driver to fold/unfold when driving/parking. Also when the doors are locked they will fold in.

I created a custom start up image and a display off image. The start up image will display when you turn the vehicle on.
    IMG_2938.JPG
And the other image will display when you hit the “screen off” button.
    IMG_2939.JPG
The instructions to do this are found in the Navigation manual. IMG_2935.JPG IMG_2936.JPG
Pretty cool option for the Gen 4’s. Go to my IG (LowGen4) to see the video of it in action.

Bingo. That's what I'm talking about. I got use to just looking at the screen whenever I need to change lanes on the right side. When ever I drive the prius I gotta turn my neck lol

I'll have to say it looks like the white Gen4 is the color to get (especially with tinted windows). Seems like it evens out some of the 'weird lines' that some don't like much.

I like the design of both the Gen3 and Gen4...and even the V (wagon). I'm not too picky though. You are correct though...but I'd prefer the word 'wedge shaped' vs. 'egg shaped'. :D The Prius v (wagon) looks even more 'wedge shaped'.

I loved my Gen 2, but I love my Gen 4.

Guess that makes me a Prius fangrrl, but they're just so fun to drive!

And the new style looks so cool and fresh. Haters gonna hate...

I couldn't agree more :D I love the look of my Pure White, makes all the black parts stand out and shows of the rear lights really well.

I didn't know we had this thread, so this is a little late. This passed weekend I (finally!) installed some coverking seat covers. They look good, but what a pain to install.

My driver's door has sustained a pattern of scratches on the recessed area under the door handle. No other door shows that wear and tear. I blame it on my school ring. I wish that I had had the clear coat done on that spot when I bought the car. (it was the same on my previous Prius, although it shows more on the blizzard pearl paint).
I bought some covers to put on the car. Nice black carbon fiber design. When it stops raining and gets a little warmer, I will install them and post some photos. Just another step on my black and white design.

The protective under-handle carbon fiber inserts. I like them, even if they were a little tricky to install. Best on a white car?

I successfully installed the side mirror lights over the weekend on my 2016 Prius 3 with ATP (no BSM), there is some followup work for the puddle light wiring, I'll probably create a new thread of all the steps I did once it is fully complete with puddle lights.

    completed install.jpg

Having completed the physical install, I do have a greater appreciation of the work required. I think if I lived in So-Cal I would have definitely hit up sfv41901 to do the install next time around as I spent 3-4 hours just getting one side taken apart and learning connectors and wiring! I had use 2 2-day TIS subscriptions to get the wiring diagrams I needed just to understand it! I did enjoy the process as I've always liked taking things apart and figuring it out.

I sourced my signal lights from ebay as there was a store sale and flash ebay sale that knocked the price down. Attached is the paper instructions.

Thank you to sfv41901, randomwalk101, and Elektroingenieur for their assistance with checking my work and providing advice.

It feels fun to finally join the non-US Prius in having side mirror signals....ahem Toyota!

2B8F2089-3924-4870-BBC3-D9AA22F0DB13.jpeg New to the forum and first post. Got a “new” 2017 3 touring a few months ago. Added the Toyota roof rack and a rhino rack fairing to reduce noise. Worked out well.
