Hello everyone. Just joined the group and looking for some advice. I just put on 18s on my 2013 Prius and need to lower it. I am looking to lower it 2 inches to fill in the gap. I am looking to just do springs only and don’t want to spend too much. Looking to spend around 200. Any one know a decent brand or a place where I can get these springs.
I believe Hybrid Pit is in Southern California. @sfv41901 is quite active here as one of our experts.
I've got H&R on mine and I like that they keep with the natural flow of the body line. The front is slightly lower than the back. Its ALMOST 2 inches.. They have settled nicely tho..
I've seen more than a handful do it themselves and then go in for an alignment.. Cheapest route.. Here in NorCal, if you have no connections like myself... The average I found was 500 which included installing new shocks/struts/springs and an alignment..
I was quoted $6-800 for spring install and alignment. In the front all the wipers and linkage has to come off to get the top nuts off the struts. Rear looks easy. In the labor book it says 4 hours for front and 2 hours for rear. Uggg.
Yikes! Labor here is SoCal is usually $200-250 for a simple spring install. The rear should definitely not take 2 hours just for springs, maybe if you’re also doing the shocks and need to remove the inner panels. Fly me up there and I’ll give you a hand w/ install. As far as alignment, I got the lifetime program w/ Firestone for around $200 and haven’t had any issues so far. I go everytime I rotate the tires every 5k and alignment is on point.
i have had tanabe df210s for a little over 3 yrs now and the'yre still holding up. however, I see you are from SoCal and I think its a requirement to be on Bags if your modding a Prius (just kidding obviously)
Its state law Ca vehicle code: a146747 Any vehicle that has modified ride height must have state approved adjustable real time ride height adjustability. Failure to comply could result with vehicle impundment up to 30 days or life imprisonment.
