What did you do to ur Gen III Prius today????

this is my vin



i tried to locate it on the engine, i found three numbers, one on the front of the engine on the block right behind the oil dipstick, that didnt match at all


Then i found the sticker on the side, which didnt have anything to do with the identification number


Then i found a number right above the exhaust manifold on the back passanger side of the engine. Didnt match either (i checked all these numbers on my mom`s prius also which i know got the original engine, and non of the codes matched that`s vin either)

Is one of these the number u meant?

 

Installed a front mount intercooler. ha jk jk just a random jdm prius dude

 

Legit or interFOOLER...

 

As poser as it is I kinda wanna install interfooler the look

 

HA, I am sure you can get one of those universal "PSSSHH" exhaust add-ons to make the blow-off sound too!

 

There's a prius guy in Thailand who has turbo kit setup that says he will selling. Me and a few other members are waiting for it

Still not convinced it's real. He has yet to show an actual pull with it in action. He's only shown an extremely fast clip of the car making a small amount of boost and then the boost dropping off...which is the exact same issue others have had with the throttle body closing under unexpected power.

He did give me the make and model of his ECU, it's a homegrown Thai unit apparently that retails for ~800 USD.

 

Under the assumption its legit....are u down?

 

Oh without a doubt. If he can prove it's a real, working turbo kit I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

As of yet he's avoiding questions, posting pictures of the engine bay from anything but a long distance away or at a bad angle, and hasnt shown it in use.

So for now I'm just assuming he's hooked everything up but discovered later that it doesnt actually work. I know if I managed to turbocharge a gen3 prius I'd be ALL over facebook, youtube, instagram, google plus, snapchat, tinder...

 

- @sfv41901 installed the drop TRD springs + TRD Rear Sway bar (amazing upgrade). He also sourced my mirror indicators + install.
- 3rd tail light replaced with clear LED
- Replaced stock drl/indicators with full LED
- Refinishing stock 17” OEM wheels and mounting tomorrow
- Morimoto XB LED’s installed now need to re-aim
- Installed Suntek Carbon 70% windshield tint...but WAY too blue, distorted, and bad glare. Can’t wait to take it off and get 55% 3M. Not recommending carbon for the windshield.

- PiP Rear Bumper Appliqué - same time as replacing windshield tint

Good stuff!! Does your 3rd brake light have the option of an LED bar on when the parking lights/low beams are on? I seriously drool every time I see those facelifted LED headlights..

The 3rd brake light you’re referencing looks really good- it’s about 100. Mine doesn’t have the “drl” bar, but I got mine for ~35. I already know I’ll likely buy the bar one in the future .

And yes the facelifted LED’s is why I HAD to get the advanced. I didn’t know this then, but the Gen3 PiP Advanced has a light-blue housing vs the Five (clear). A nice little touch.

 

I love the upgraded mods. Dammm those led headlights are toiiight. Wishful thinking someday. Sorry had to wipe off the drool on my iPad.

 

Sweet, $35 isn’t bad at all! I asked because I bought a smoked version with the bar, and was wondering if it’s easy to wire that function in.

Nope, bought it elsewhere. It’s just a no name brake light, but looks identical to the Valenti.

 

- Can you please give us a side shot when you get your wheels mounted? I would love to see how it looks with the TRD springs! Thanks!!
- what brand did you use when you change the stock DRL to Indicators with full LED?
- What did your wheels look like before (a lot of damage? curb rash?)? It looks brand spanking new now!!

Very jealous of the blue tinted LED headlights! Car looks gorgeous!

You can get some of the blue LED headlights. Those come stock from the factory Prius Plugin
