You never know until you look;).

To get an idea, pull the egr pipe between the cooler and manifold and this will give you some idea. This is what the discharge side of the egr valve looked like which is where the egr pipe is: F53C25E8-A0D6-4E5E-AEF9-C473F2D26489.jpeg

It’ll give you an idea on timing of your next steps(y).

Yea i know, we did that on my dads Auris Touring Sports, it was completely blocked off lol, so the whole engine was vibrating at low RPM. When i say that the auris was vibrating i mean seriously vibrating... it felt like the front wheels were oval shaped when we first got it. Our 2013 Auris has gone 100K miles, so toyota cleaned the EGR valve and the flushed the gearbox, it felt like a brand new car after they did that, only costed 600 dollars. We usually dont do any service on our toyotas at home, because every service u do at toyota u get one more year of Hybrid warranty on top of the 10 year warranty u get from the factory, (hybrid battery warranty that is). So for us it makes more economical sense to let toyota mess around in the engine room when it only costs 200-300 dollars a year while the battery itself costs like 2700 dollars new. We have used maybe like 600 dollars total on my prius now, wouldnt be that great if we didnt have the battery warranty incase some happens before i sell it. I will most likely buy a 2015 Prius, 2013-2015 Auris, 2013-2015 BMW 3-series or a 2012-2015 BMW 1-series after my 2011 prius.
I just feel like my car is kinda sluggish compared to my moms 2010 prius which has only gone 40k miles. So i suspect its the EGR valve that needs cleaning (and i obviously know that it has 4 times more miles on it, but i highly doubt its supposed to feel like this, i have done different tests in it using a OBD2 adapter and the engine looks to be totally fine, it fires when it should, emmisions is on point and all that) it kinda vibrates like my dads auris did when we first got that, just not as much lol, But yea, my problem with the car is that its super annoying in roundabouts and stop signs, it takes a second before it reacts since it takes so long for it to start the engine compared to my moms and my dads that is just there with the power right away.

Just completed preventative maintenance day #2:).

    On today’s docket:
    • Intake manifold cleaning. Not as bad as the other components, but the small races from the egr circuit still got cleaned as well as the sponge pool ;) 60802971-AB7F-4062-90A5-5BBE3EE76A0B.jpeg 092F082D-939D-4C98-9015-43C7815927E3.jpeg 538B166B-A0E4-4D43-A4F4-EF577E35836F.jpeg
    • MAP sensor cleaning. Dirty and got its own cleansing BD08CB1C-793A-463B-A1A8-5198F93F8EB0.jpeg
    • Transaxle drain and fill. This was done ~40 k miles ago, but still was not red by any means B7605314-0F5C-4FCE-8B29-731ABF75782D.jpeg
    • Also changed out the oil catch can hoses to fuel line as the clear braided hose that came with the kit were pinched:(.
Onto the wife’s RX tomorrow for both transaxle drain and fills(y).

Went to Hybrid Pit to buy some springs from another member. Ended up getting them installed and having Sean disable the ufo noises.

Turns out 7 other Prius came out. Good meeting everyone. IMG_20180407_190512.jpg IMG_20180407_141005_881.jpg

I wonder how MAP sensors operate, particularly when drenched in oil??

Not sure, but having a liquid coating the probe will act as a barrier to the probe:(.

But there is good vacuum so not sure how accurate the pressure reading needs to be. I can check on Techstream a little later today and see what she reads;).

I know I never got a code pointing to the MAP sensor though (y).

I once poured about a cup of motor oil into an automatic (after a drain), before I woke up and stopped. What I did in that scenario:

    1. Drained it and refilled with proper fluid.
    2. Drove to dealership, and got sufficient fluid for two more changes.
    3. Drained it and refilled with proper fluid.
    4. Drove around the block a couple of times.
    5. Drained it and refilled with proper fluid.
