I can confirm the same when I put the Injen intake on. Feels much more responsive, and you get a nice growl from the engine.

Can you please get us an audio or video clip for us? I’m debating between the Injen or K&N drop in.

Here are two different clips, sadly no before and after from me, but you're already aware of how the car sounds stock. Interesting to me is during hard pulls you can hear the suction from the engine. I like to tell myself it's the turbo.

    IMG_1541.JPG
    IMG_1540.JPG

There were a load of stone chips on one side, so they were touched in and then the bonnet/hood wet flatted, this was the start

    Towards the end

    The finished side

    Sure.
I started with 2000 grit wet and dry sandpaper, then went down to 2500 and finished at 3000.

    Compounds I use meguires range
    IMG_0804.JPG
    IMG_0804.JPG

Ideally I could have done with a slightly harsher compound to start with.

I use 6” hexlogic pads and a rotary machine rather than a DA, I have 3 of these ranging from heavy cut/medium-heavy/finishing, this one is the end-heavy and has done its last job today, it’s fubar’d now
    IMG_1555.JPG

I did one pass on each pad, the first two using the number 83 compound and the last one using the 86.

Once I had the finish I then used Autoglym ultra deep shine polish, for black cars it is the business IMG_1557.JPG

And then I sealed it all with a product called Fusso, I love it but I know many in the detailing world aren’t as keen on it
    IMG_1556.JPG

    And that’s it.

Now all I have to do is the rest of the car with the number 86 compound and finishing pads, then use the autoglym and then fusso to seal the polish

I had time today to do some DIY. Morimoto xb led fog lights. Had to take out the ugly lighting of the original fogs. Great light output on these new fog lights.

Very nice! That's right in line with where it should be! I assume you're all stock?

Yes, all stock. It was fun, and I surprised a couple of people with my RT time. I have to say, in power mode the Prius can get up and go.

ikr lol, look at drag races on utube with the prius, the prius always react faster. Prius is just a car people "love to hate". Most of the people that hates it have heard it from a buddy that heard it from a buddy that heard it from a buddy that it was awful. I do surprise quite alot of people on the road when i put it in power mode, when im on a two lane road and i floor it up to the speed limit, i just wait for them to pass in the other lane twice the speedlimit lol, it triggers people by some reason that they cant hang up with it to around 70kmh (in Norway the Prius is actually pretty fast btw, here, 11 seconds 0-100kmh is the norm for all cars. In US even minivans does that in 7 seconds lol, so its not quite the same living in Norway).

I’ve surprised a few people off the lights, all they see is a Prius taxi, then all they see is my rear end scooting off

Same experience! I raced a C3 Corvette twice at a stop light last weekend and won easily both times! He was REALLY surprised a Corvette would lose to a Prius, lol.

    Today was preventative maintenance day:).

Since I had a set of willing hands staying with us (my old man), I took advantage and we spent a leisurely day in the garage;).

    Completed today:

    • Water pump changeout. With 176 k miles on our 2010 and at about 9 years in service, the original water pump served us well. The new Aisin pump spins much more freely and something not pointed out in the repair manual is the form-a-gasket present on the two bolts that are at the discharge of the pump. Had to venture out to obtain a tube and apply to those bolts. Destructive analysis to follow on the old pump:).
    • Thermostat change since the pump was out and coolant was drained;).
    • Spark plug change since we had the windshield wiper cowling off. Old plugs only had 60 k miles on them, but took advantage of the opportunity. Old plugs didn’t look bad and I’ll keep them just in case:whistle:: 8320EB55-F469-4721-9337-601709945313.jpeg 602DACCC-9A89-42C3-AC42-A0D6FB051CE5.jpeg
    • Egr cooler and valve swap out (for the second time). First one was at 120 k miles, so this round had about 56 k miles on it. I was surprised with what I found:eek:: BB750D78-5229-4686-93F4-2EB918735DD6.jpeg 325ABE46-D0AE-4953-B7F4-F1708E468A22.jpeg C81AE264-6C98-4BDB-9AA5-C0B668A3C18A.jpeg CA35996B-9F66-4DBB-843A-48B5902A4CFC.jpeg 5F3F4459-544B-4050-AB06-42EF5870849C.jpeg
    • Oil catch can draining:). Installed an OcC about 6 k miles ago and is installed below the intake manifold. Here’s te contents and only about a couple of ounces of quantity: 919B5F8F-93EE-4C21-8629-A8031C376E3E.jpeg
Up tomorrow is an intake manifold cleanat and trans axle fluid drain and fill(y).
