2001 prius. I just changed the passenger cv axle, after getting it done went for a test ride. Around 40mph the abs light comes on, but like pulling in the driveway at a slow speed the light will go off, and come back on at 40mph. Any ideas? Thanks

Do you have a code reader?

Do you feel any difference in performance or hear any audible sounds when the light is on?

I have a reader, the cheap one you plug in under the dash. No difference in performance, no sound, brakes work good.

Well P0420 is for the catalytic converter and P1430 is for a vacuum sensor. Both of these are not for the abs light that’s on:(.

You’ll need a better code reader to determine the exact cause via the codes ;).

Know anyone with an old laptop or access to Techstream ?

I'm afraid if I mention this much more often, it'll start to get burned in at the bottom of every PriusChat thread, but anyway:

Reading the brake system codes does not require any kind of reader at all. You can get finer-grained and additional information if you have one, but you can get the codes with a short piece of skinny wire and some counting of light blinks. (Forum search will turn up the details. Also, it goes without saying, you can find them all in the repair manual.)

I'm guessing you will find a wheel speed sensor code. While you have the skinny wire handy, there's also an actual speed sensor test described in the repair manual, which is recommended for times when you've worked in that area.
