I can't think of any driving techniques that would prolong the battery's life. It needs to have the cells balanced now.

At first, I thought the "40000 us$" was a typo. That much for a used Prius with a bad battery? Something doesn't add up. Are import duties responsible for the high cost? What would you pay for a new Prius there?

The mechanic wouldn't do the balancing he said he cant balance this, obviously he was not balancing it with his phone software. Will the prolong charger do the job? How would I know it did?

Interesting. And from the looks of the steering wheel in the picture, you don't even get Bluetooth as standard equipment (never mind Toyota Safety Sense). Someone along that supply chain must be making out like a bandit.

To the best of my knowledge, using a Prolong charger is about the only way to balance the modules properly, without a lot of time and effort. You can monitor the individual blocks on your phone using Torque (or something similar) as you drive to verify that their voltages are staying within an acceptable range, both with and without a load.

That's pretty much exactly what it's for. Balancing batteries.

Hi Brad, I’ve been driving mine with a bad battery for over 10k miles. Whenever the warning light came on I would turn it off with OBD2 scanner. Probably came on about 10 times? but not sure. The light comes on typically when I’m not paying attention to where the battery level is on the energy monitor. It’s been over 6 months but will see what happens.
