Noted - I'll work on some alternatives for Battery Temperature ASAP.

From the Toyota TechInfo website (Hybrid Battery Control, doc RM100000001009A) there are apparently 15 battery temperature sensors, 3 on each of 5 battery "blocks". Any one of these would do.
If you get really ambitious, then there are also two battery cooling fan intake air temperature sensors and it would be nice to have one of these available as well.

I've added a couple of new XGauges, and made modifications to Battery Temperature 1 & 2. I think you're right in that there are likely 15 different battery temperatures and these Battery Temperature 1 & 2 are just the start of them. If they seem to work well I'll work on figuring out the remaining 13.

I did get ambitious! I've added the both of the Hybrid Battery Intake Air Temperatures . I've also added XGauges for Battery Min/Max temperature readings which seems to report the min/max temperature reading out of all of the battery temperature readings. Might be easier to watch those then all 15 individual readings.

Hybrid Battery Intake Air Temperature 1 (°F)

Hybrid Battery Intake Air Temperature 2 (°F)

    Hybrid Battery Maximum Temp (°F)

    Hybrid Battery Minimum Temp (°F)

    Hybrid Battery Temperature 1 (°F)

    Hybrid Battery Temperature 2 (°F)

The current full list can be found here. Still experimental, so let me know how they do.

I had a chance to check out the Max & Min battery temperature settings, as well as battery intake air temperature settings & these work like a charm. However, even with the new settings, hybrid battery temperatures 1 & 2 still won't display.
Its not a big issue though, since the Max & Min temperatures are more than sufficient for my purposes.

I did my first cold-soak test with car in an open carport overnight at 14F ambient......the battery (min/max) temps dropped from 47F/52F to 27F/32F in 10 hours. After this cold soak I plugged the charger in & watched the max/min temperature output to see if the Prime's built-in battery heater kicked in but I don't think so, since the max/min temperature readings only increased a few degrees per hour (which I attribute to the charging current). It was on a 110V charger though, and according to the Scangauge the current into the battery was only around 2.2A @~350V. Why so low (~0.8W) I don't know, because the mains at the car can supply more like 1.6kW. Perhaps the charge current at low temp is reduced to protect the battery (since lithium ion batteries can be damaged if charged fast at low temperatures)
It would be nice to run this test in dead of winter at -30F ambient... oh well, next year!
Thanks again to Scangauge for being so helpful with the coding. I can't help but wonder if the Prime has other diagnostic output accessible to the Scangauge that might help me determine when the battery heating circuit is energized? That would really be icing on the cake.

    Thank you!!!
Would like see more XGauge for gen4!!!
Is there any X-Command be passed to ECU?
    i.e.
    Reverse Beep control
    HV Battery cooling fan
    AC Re-circulate control on switch-off
    VEHICLE PROXIMITY NOTIFICATION on/off

How those temperatures converted to Celsius?

I cacluated as MTH=00070708FFCE, is it correct?
    Thanks!

I tested, my MTH for degree working!
HB1,HB2 are also not working for me,won't display value.
If I read BV1 to BV5 with NBC, the value of current and temperature would be corrupted and diaplay flashed …
FAN would be turned on if BMX reached to 35C, turned off if BMW down to 33C..I saw FAN value from 5.0, 4.5, 2.5…0
    I haven't seen A/C changed, always 0.00

I'll see what I can do about monitoring the battery heating info. I think there may be some possibilities.

It's possible the XGauges that I have listed for the Prime will apply to Gen IV Prius's as well.

I can look into that. I know the reverse beep modification was popular on the Gen III Prius.

    That looks correct to me!

I'll look into that. When you say 'NBC' is that actually meant to be HBC?

I've added two more XGauges that are related to the battery heaters - specifically their temperatures:

Hybrid Battery Heater Temperature 1 (°F)

Hybrid Battery Heater Temperature 2 (°F)

Not sure how useful those may be though. They read pretty close to what the Min/Max Battery temperatures were on the Prime I tested them on. It wasn't being charged though, and the outside temperature was in the 70's.

I'll keep looking to see if I can find an actual status report of the battery heaters that might indicate if they're on or off.

Yes, I meant HBC(HV battery current), reading together with HV Battery blocks(HV1-HV5) since I serially connect 2 ScanGaugeII(4.5 + 4.5EF)
Is A/C Power Consumption (kW) means Air Conditioner power consumption or AC adapter? but actually both are present 0.00 when using air conditioner or AC adapter charger..

What are Min/Max Battery temperatures actually meant? Is it Min/Max stand for one of battery rack/cell? Min/Max values are changing during drive..

When two ScanGauges are connected certain XGauge combinations on the two units may interfere with each other to cause what you saw. I'll set something up with multiple units on the Prime I have access to in a few days to see if that's the case.
I believe it's power consumption of the Air Conditioner. Watch it for a while while you drive with the A/C on to see if perhaps it's readings change with different driving conditions.

I believe it's show the lowest & highest battery temperature out of the 15 battery temperatures that are reported. I still need to get the individual battery temperatures working to confirm that though.

@Linear Logic: Hi. I own three Scangauge II units which on 2016 I had upgraded for a fee to V., 3.15 by a German authorized dealer (Regiodata).
Now I own a Prius Prime (aka Prius PHV here in Europe) and I would like to upgrade to the latest version compatible with my Prime (4.50?). How can I get the upgrade?
    Thank you in advance.

I read A/C value with air conditioner turned on around 50KM trip, still don't see the value changed.
HT1 and HT2 are working, HT1 is almost the same as HT2, almost same as BF1 and BF2 as well.
HT1/HT2 are the same as BMX at beginning of drive, few distance after, BMX would be higer than HT1/HT2.

If you could, send an E-mail to [email protected] and I'll help you get set up with an update.

I'll look into the A/C XGauge next chance I get. I could have swore I saw it change when I turned the A/C on but perhaps I'm mistaken.

Good to hear HT1/HT2 BF1/BF2 and BMX/BMN appear to be working. Those results seem to make sense.

I believe A/C mth value is incorrect, I changed to 000100010000, then when I turned on A/C the value is changed, and when I changed to 001400010000, the value is made sense to me of it's unit is KW… Changing temperature settings to higher or lower, the value would be changed accordingly.
