got my Prime Advanced (Blue Magnetism/moonstone) yesterday, replacing my venerable 2011 Prius IV which reached 120K miles still in great condition! I absolutely love the car but this Entune App is driving me nuts

After a painful process that reminded me of technology circa 2005, I was finally able to activate my complimentary Safety Connect subscription, get the contract code, etc and finally access the Entune app on my iPhone which is useless as I don't seem to be able to do anything with it. Nothing works, can't get the Charge Management to show me anything, Eco Dashboard gives me the Invalid email or password error, Remote Climate doesn't work, etc.

I changed the password and followed all the suggestions posted here to no avail

Could it be the car? is there something to be done in the car first in order to use this section of the Entune app? I'm not using any app like Pandora, etc on Entune as I don't find them useful, but find very compelling this app section with the Prime Advanced charging, etc. The car is now charging in the basement where there is no cell or wifi signal at all, could that be the reason? Does the car needs to be always connected to use the app?

your assumption is correct for both the car and the App on the phone.

Ok, thanks! Now everything is working except the Eco Dashboard, keep getting the Invalid email or password error. Tried everything suggested here to no avail. Will need to call Toyota I guess

Did you try changing your password with the app on your phone itself? That's how i got mine to work. Changing it on the internet with a computer didn't work.

Buzzhead your are a genius my friend! I have been trying to access the Eco Dashboard since I got my car and kept giving me the wrong password wrong email error. I tried everything, even opened a ticket with Toyota, spent about half an hour on the phone with them yesterday and nothing, their recommendation was to link my Facebook account to Entune which of course didn't work, they were clueless

The secret for it to work is... Don't use weird characters in your password like #, $, &, etc!!! in my case it was a #. I read your message about Entune not liking your &, created a password with only letters and numbers and voila! It is working now. That the app allows you to use a password than then will create trouble in the first place speaks loudly about how poorly designed is Toyota's Entune, they have a lot, and I mean a lot of work to do

I hooked up entune and realized it simply used my phone for it's media stream, I prefer to stream my phone directly to the only thing I use, Pandora, pandora with entune was inferior, less reception, less volume, less fun.

This is just shitty coding. This entire app is an example why car manufactures shouldn't write software. Also, why do I have to wait 2 minutes for the slow app to respond when my car is well within range of my home's wifi? Seriously Toyota, most of these functions could be handled over wifi. (Toyota wants that sweet, sweet data running through their servers.)

The app sucks. The tablet interface sucks. No CarPlay/android auto. It doesn't have to be this way.

That is not normal. Mine connects instantly via 4G LTE mobile data (Android, Galaxy S6) which rules out app speed. My WiFi is 802.11 AC and even faster than 4G LTE. I'd suspect your WiFi signal strength/distance, not the app. Easy enough to test using WiFi Analyzer or WiFi analytic apps if you really want a fix and not just a rant.

The Prius doesn't have wifi though, that's the issue. It would be instantaneous if it did.

Yeah. The Prius doesn’t connect to WiFi, so when I use the entune app, the app has to communicate from my cell (either through WiFi or LTE) to Toyota servers, back to a cell tower, finally to the car.

That takes over a minute on average.

If the Prius could connect to WiFi itself, I could communicate with it directly. That would take seconds.

I can't seem to find this information: we just bought a Prime Advanced. Both my spouse and I will be driving it at times. Is it possible to register the Prime Entune account to completely work on both of our phones? We would both like to use Charge Management, the Charging Station Map, Remote Climate, Vehicle Finder, and have our own Eco Dashboards. If not, Toyota should make it so that the Primary Account has the say in which apps to "allow" the Secondary Account to use. Thank you!

Have you tried to put the Entune app on both phones and log into both of them? using the same user name and password for both?

This also worked for me. (I also added my Safety Connect Contract ID after I set up the initial login). Resetting the password after the contract ID is entered seems to be required but you're not notified that this is the case.
