Occasionally I get a message that the Key Fob is detected in Vehicle. Which is mysterious because I'm in the car and it's obvious that the Key Fob is detected in the Vehicle. So why the silly message? I had to take the Key Fob put of my pocket when I departed the car and closed the door and tried to lock it by placing my finger on the door handle, I had to use the lock function on the Key Fob to lock the doors. I looked inside the car and noticed that the "key is detected in vehicle" still being displayed on the MFD
I have seen that message periodically on my Gen 4. It also makes sure the doors are unlocked when it is displayed. I just ignore it and start the car as usual. You cannot use SKS to lock the car with a fob inside. You need to use the mechanical key. This is documented in that batch of firestarter they call a manual. You received this when buying the car.
If the rear hatch is not completely closed, my car tells me that. I do not use the rear hatch often and the "Key in Car" message seems to be somewhat random.
lol, you're all wrong turns out I have my Galaxy S7 Edge in the same pocket as my key fob, so when the phone is in front of the key fob in my pocket the signal from the key fob is partially blocked, happened again tonight when I got off work so I pulled my key fob out of my pocket and set it on the passenger seat, problem resolved
DUDE! Attach your keys (including your Prime's) to a carabiner snap hook, which you snap to a loop on your pants. Works like a charm!! As far as the cell phone, throw that distracting device away!! Posted via the PriusChat mobile app. AChoiredTaste.com

Then you can flip the carabiner up over the top of the waist band and down the inside so it is not even exposed - if you care about that. (Which I do.)
Now how are we supposed to know that? See, you don’t need us"......................."..............boo hoo.
