I saw this online. do not know if it’s any good. It has great reviews for the Gen 3.

Thanks JC for your input. I might get this soon when I measure a weak voltage of my old battery.

FWIW...saving $40-$50 on a 12VDC battery is good...all things being equal. But...with the published history HERE with "Yellow Tops" and the unknown with others, my vote and money went with the Toyota supplied option when the time came and comes again. Either-way, $40-$50 won't cover one dinner for 4 at a family restaurant with tip...so the choice and priority is yours to make. ;)

First, I would never buy a battery and have it shipped to me, unless there was no other option.

While rare, warranty issues do happen and I do not need nor want the hassle of having to ship back a battery.

Personally, the Toyota offers some advantages as mentioned. Yes, you will pay more, but it has a good warranty and will fit -- exactly. I think IIRC, it now even comes with Roadside service for a couple of years or so,

I agree with getting one locally unless the price is so much cheaper. With that said, I got my Optima from Pepboys when they have 25% off online order and pickup in store. It seems like they exclude Optima from 25% now but Bosch AGM is $142+tax with 25% off. Most of my other cars uses Costco batteries but Costco does not carry Prius size battery in my local stores. If you live close to AdvanceAutoParts store, they usually have big online coupons frequently so that may work if you don't need the battery urgently.

I paid $220 for my Yuasa at the dealer. That AC Delco battery is not one that I came across... could be an option worth trying. Some conflicting reviews, but most of the issues seem to be from Gen 2 owners.

As far as the 12V battery affecting MPGs, I'm no expert... I guess all I really can say is that I don't think it would impact mileage, because as mine slowly died over the last 6 months, I saw no corresponding mileage loss.

I'd go for the Pep Boy Bosch AGM battery if I was in the States, at least give it a try. What is it, $145 US, installed?

My 2012 Prius v stock battery died just under 6 years old. I replaced it with the Optima yellow top. They had a great sale at Pep Boys at the time. Also, Amazon had good reviews.

Thank you cyber for the feature list. I didn't know about the roadside assistance. I began my TrueStart adventure this past Monday, purchased at my dealer and installed myself. Replaced my 8 year old OEM 12V, which although not a record certainly says that the original battery can go quite a stretch.

The purchase price was $241 less a $15 core charge. It took me about 10 minutes to install.

Hey Mendel. Have you tried the Bosch batteries in your Pri.? Do you have to get larger connectors or it would fit like the OEM battery? I’ll go see at pep boys tomorrow.

Never had one, just the spec's and price look good, it's readily available, and I'd assume it's exact fit, regarding dimensions, posts, vent.

I have an optima yellow top right now, but am gathering it's got excessive CCA, and amp hours are low, for the application.

Up here I'll probably go for a Canadian tire motomaster battery next time, a conventional cased AGM, that's likely s rebadged Exide. Again I'd expect it to be exact fit.
