PriusChat Shop menus need to be updated to include 2018 models.

I wonder about the bigger picture.

Is the "Prius shop" still really in business ?

Since something finally happened to make the site stable again........after YEARS of database problems.......and the fact that Danny seems to be totally absent here, I can't help but wonder if the site hasn't been given over to someone else to run now. And that might not include the "shop" anymore.

It would be nice to know.

I was just searching, but yes.
Until recently people could not put a 2018 Prius in their user profile!

Not jinx it, but we haven't had a site crash in a while lol.

Again, this is Danny's baby so I will let him deal with it.

    But that IS the question.
He has not been able to properly care for "his baby" for a really, REALLY long time now.
So the fact that it is now fixed begs the question: Is HE really still involved or did someone else take over ??

My question would be: do orders get filled?

As an IT person, let me give my guess what has been happening.
I suspect Danny has been using a shared web server that was overwhelmed by the growth in PriusChat
His hosting company seems to have finally moved his site to a more capable server which is meeting our current needs. Should PC continue to grow, we would eventually exhaust the capability of this new server. (Should one of the other clients of the new server grow, it would also affect PC)

In any case, I do not think this has been a 'Danny' problem, (except to the extent he may have needed to pay more to be on a larger server) but rather a hosting problem.

I disagree. It HAS been a Danny Problem in that he does not think enough of us forum "rodents" to even come on the board and post some quick "explaining" even after NUMEROUS requests.

He, of course, did find time to write extensively about his Junket to Japan during the middle of the forum meltdown crisis.

I did not want four pages of technical answers, just a couple of paragraphs assuring us all was well and that the problem was being investigated.

And I do not think that it is a simple capacity problem.......unless maybe the server was overloaded to the point that it was almost dead.

It is perfectly possible to "choke" off the traffic that is offered to a capacity limited server so that the server itself doesn't crash.
The errors we were seeing obviously were coming directly from the host server itself.

I guess it is possible that the entire organization that was providing the hosting was totally incompetent.
But the owner isn't communicating anymore.......and when he was the information was purposely vague.

In keeping with the original subject, the important question is:
Are the orders being filled ??

The last thing I heard about PriusShop was regarding an unfilled order, unanswered emails. It finally was sorted out, I think. But is this what awaits every potential customer, or is it sorted?
