Anybody install an aftermarket sub and amp to their prime? I spend way too much time on the road and the sound system...sucks? Sorry, I couldn't find a better way to describe it. But none the less I want to add a aftermarket sub and and amp to the car and was wondering if anyone has done so and would be kind enough to share some of their experiences...but before you start to share, I'm only looking for people who have done so in a Prime...I've had a sub and amp put into plenty of other vehicles so I'm looking for specific feedback regarding the prime. Thank!

I was actually looking at the same sub but the 10" version. Is the lc2i needed, can't i just use a traditional hi to low converter?

How difficult is it to access the wiring behind the screen? I haven't found any quality installers in my area and considering tackling this myself but I'm afraid of causing damage.

I actually just got my sub amp and LC2i installed last week. The installer i used didn't have to get behind the screen, they tapped into my front door speaker wire which was accessible via the kick panel. If you do want to have them tap in behind the screen theres a video on youtube by BeatSonic that shows how to remove the screen fairly easily.

Any one have a good location and color of the wires to tap into? I want to install a bazooka rs10 sub in the truck. It has a built in amp and crossover. Just need to run power, ground and signal. thank you

I just had an 8" Powered Bazooka Sub installed in mine. If my memory serves they tapped into power by the drivers side door floor/trim area. The installer was quite happy that they didn't have to remove any of the dash panels. Seemed easy from how he described it, but then again he does that for a living. The 8" sub fits perfectly underneath the cover in the back, and sounds amazing. I'm so glad I had it installed. It connects with a Molex connector so I can take it out whenever I need to. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Thinking of adding an amp and sub to my prime as well that I have laying around the house. Would have someone professionally do it of course. Anyone have experience with it draining the battery quicker due to pulling power? Is EV range impacted at all?

When the weather gets a little better I am going to install my 10" rs bazooka tube(rs is 250w) my brother gave me. Its a little over kill and large. I think the 8" would be perfect. But I will take some pics on the install and what wires I use. My tube has a auto remote switch so I Don't have to run a remote wire. Just power/ speaker input and ground.

Can you share a picture? With the bazooka tube in and what it looks like when taken out?

So sorry for the delay. I never got a notification that there was a reply on this thread, and I haven't checked this forum in a few days. Here are some pics. I didn't disconnect it but got some that show the backside of the woofer and the connections.

That’s exactly the look I want. Be able to have the cover closed and still add the lunch of a sub. I have a 600watt Sony amp from years ago I was thinking of using. My install place said they may be able to get it mounted to that little compartment where the charging cable was stored. I like the idea of an all in one solution tho. Is it easy to connect and disconnect if needed? I would probably have to do it quite often so having just the sub to remove is easier than having the “amp” to remove

I love the custom "door stop" anti-roll solution. Cheap and effective! ;)

LOL. Thanks. I put a couple of small "Slits" in the floor cover to feed the straps through, but even doing that, when I turned the sub would roll over some and then roll back. The sub is heaver than that rubber mat so the mat loses. The doorstop just kinda fell into my lap. I think it was my wifes idea. Not gonna tell her though. LOL.

Is it a pain to disconnect the sub or no? I know a regular sub just has the 2 terminals for speaker wire. Is disconnecting and reconnecting more annoying?

Nice set up. I am pretty much doing the same set up but with a 10". I have a ton of speakers and amps. But i just want to keep it simple with a bazooka tube with built in amp.
