    according to Toyota the RAV4 hybrid gets;
2018 Toyota RAV4 Ready for More Action with New Adventure and LE Hybrid Grades | Toyota

So maybe we both oughta do a bit of editing prior to posts .... I should have said HIGHWAY driving - 30mpg.
that's my nit, & I'm sticking to it.
    :p

    EDIT
i know our Lexus hybrid SUV (as well as the hyhi) have towing capability .... but i can't find anything for the RAV4 hybrid ... just the standard RAV. maybe our resident expert can enlighten us?

You said.. city... ahh.. never mind.

    Fine :p.

Man... extra lines are popping up every time I click "Quote" ;)

RAV4 Hybrid is rated for 1,750 lbs. - from toyota.com. I've listed the regular RAV4 too... it's 1,500 lbs. (Not sure why it's lower. Usually the hybrid rating is lower lol)

That's interesting . . . . I asked our half sister's husband (toyota hybrid tech) who tells me their data says NO towing - for 2 reasons. The kick sensor interferes (which one can easy enough disable) and because the CVT cooler is not nearly as big as the hyhi/RX CVT systems. Hey! I'll go with the written page any day!
    :)
what is footnote 29 on the page you pasted above

CHAdeMO may not have been originally planned, but is now in light of the fact it took so long to get to market, or to make up for the low hybrid efficiency.
The hybrid is more powerful than the ICE model.
Going by past info, a FWD hybrid model would have a zero tow rating while being AWD or FWD doesn't affect the ICE's rating.

It's a basic CYA from Toyota on making sure the trailer and car are properly equipped, and don't exceed the gross combined vehicle weight rating.

Well that’s the XLE Hybrid. I assume the limited is a no-no since it has the kick sensor.

The usual make sure your car is properly equipped and you don’t exceed the weight capacity of your vehicle.

When the Rav gets a remodel, it will get the new camry hybrid setup. Then Mitsubishi will be even further into their US grave.

Too bad Toyota does not like PHEV. I would love a Rav with Prius ICE hybrid setup except in awd. And put in 17 kwh battery package for about 30 miles EV.... or help the small ICE with some load.

2019MY is the expected time frame.

The current generation came out for the 2013 MY, updated for 2016MY.

The last generation Camry hybrid system fits in the current hybrid Rav4.

There is a lot of space under the Camry hood. The 4 cylinder can stretch out if it wanted too. Then one of Toyota's design goals with the HSD was to reduce its size. The Rav4 may not have the space for a V6, but the hybrid shouldn't be a problem.

If the 25mpg isn't just a place holder until the EPA finalizes the paper work, the PHEV gas efficiency isn't any better than the rest of the Outlander line up.
