Shock absorbers

    220,000 miles 2012 Prius v and shocks don’t seem to be absorbing much anymore. What’s recommended? New shocks or new shocks and new struts?

    One rear windshield washer motor, one brake job and three sets of tires.

    New shocks on the rear, and new strut assembly on the front! That great to have that many miles and so few problems!

    Best value in good quality shocks is by who with what part number?

    Monroe is terrible. Used new ones on my VW jetta, and seemed as if they weren't shocks in there.

    I prefer kyb, or original Toyota shocks

    I would go with KYB shocks and struts which are close if not the same as OEM Toyota. Replaced for rear shocks on my car.
    If you want to try something different, check out Koni FSD (Frequency Selective Damping). I put these struts on front of mine and have way less body roll going around corners. And they are comfortable, not a harsh ride. You can find a lot of praise for them. They cost more though.
    If you just want to keep the factory floaty feel, get KYB.
