I wanted to get an idea of other's driving cost per mile, which includes gas, maintenance, repairs, etc. Let's exclude insurance, financing and depreciation since those apply for ownership costs. I'm only interested in driving costs. My gas driving cost is ~$0.05/mi (55 mpg). I've only had my Prius C for a month, so I'm not sure what would be an accurate assumption on maintenance and repairs. I'm hoping others could share (e.g. at how many miles did you have to replace or repair something such as brakes, tires, oil and other fluids, filters, etc.)
Fuelly says I've spent $2143.50 on fuel. My maintenance spreadsheet indicates $150 on other fluids & filters (not counting the free dealer oil changes for first 25k). No other maintenance (knock on wood) over 53400 miles, so that's ~$.043 per mile.
ACAR/Fuelly shows that I'm at $0.064/mi for total running costs. 89,539 miles tracked. Including the cost of the car and services, I'm at $.353/mile and dropping.
That factors in financing, but not insurance. If you're just looking for gas and no maintenance or anything else, then I'm at $0.053/mile.
