This would have led some dealerships to ask you to replace an entire pack, just because of the intermittent voltage problem on the MFD. That would have solved the problem, but it would have ended up costing you thousands of dollars in new batteries. Thank God, they did the right thing, by referring the car to a Prius pro.
That's a helpful but still kinda generic Hybrid Battery failure code. I'd want to see more data like block voltages. Or delta soc
Well. The car shows again the Hybrid failure screen so its time to install the computer TMR-JWAP send me. I dont know if I can do it myself but Im doing to look for instructions

On the Aqua/C, no need to remove the battery to get to it. Nothing special needs to be done. Plug and play. That said, P0a80 is set when the battery blocks show a difference of 1.2v. Easy to see with a scan tool. Reset the code, and drive the car. If the code sets, you need to look at the "Battery Block Minimum Voltage" and "Battery Block Maximum Voltage" PID's. If there's more than a 1.2V difference, it's most likely something with the battery... You can test this with a simple test: On a warm engine with ICE stopped, put the car in reverse, and step on the brake and accelerator at the same time. This will discharge the battery without starting the ICE (it will start in "drive" so use reverse). When the battery SOC gets low enough, the ICE will start, to charge the battery, step off the gas, and just hold the brake. When the ICE stops, step on the accelerator again. If you have the proper tool, you can graph the two PID's above, and see the min/max difference. You can also do this by driving using just the battery at full battery-only power bars, and have the engine start/stop, but it's a lot easier to do in reverse. If the min/max block voltage is going to exceed 1.2v, it will happen when the ICE stops, and the car goes back to full battery discharge (full throttle in reverse with brakes). Lots of other variables to look at to in order to get an idea of battery condition, but if it's bad, this will tell you for sure. hope this helps.
