So. Been an adventure with this car. Had the inverted water pump fail, and now this.

Had brakes done at a shop recently, and now this issue has started. From what I have read, it’s “Hydro Booster Pump Relay”. We replaced rear brakes at a shop yesterday as a far fetched solution, but that did not fix it. I ordered a 88263-21010 relay, as I have seen that being an issue also. Every time we drive the car, the Skid Control ECU buzzer will go off when the brakes are pressed. If we light press the brakes while starting the car, the lights won’t pop on. Only when hard pressing.

After relay I will try a new 12v battery. What else could be wrong? Hopefully not an expensive fix?

    Thanks :)

You should let a dealer handle this, hopefully it'll be covered under an extended warranty campaign for the brake actuator. You have til the end of December before this campaign expires.

You had the rear brakes worked on? What exactly was worked on? Remember, the rear brakes uses brake shoes, and brake cylinder mounted on the hub.

If you did temper with the hydraulic system, and didn't remove the abs motor relays before bleeding there'd be problems. That code would set forth.

Check the relays at the ABS area at the hood. If abs motor relays are bad, the actuator won't operate perfectly.

Lights were on before the rear brakes were done. Replaced the ABS MTR 2 relay today with no avail. Just I am going to Toyota tomorrow.

You need to clear the codes with a code reader. ABS/VSC lights will not just disappear. If the lights appear to stay on after clearing, then you still have problem, for which you need to read the codes to see what problem there is.

Clear the codes and rescan to see what code(s) comes up.

Cleared the codes and they came back. Sitting at the dealer now. First thing the service advisor lady mentioned was ZG1. So this may actually be a good trip to a STEALership.

    Quick update...

Low and behold the previous owner has already had this issue fixed once. 1 year and 3 months ago. So if it comes back as the Actuator, I will have to sell the car.

This is the second warranty issue I have had in 2 months. First one was the inverter water pump failure, and they couldn’t warranty that one because it was 1 year and 6 days past.

How much would I be looking at to get the actuator replaced at a 3rd party shop?

Probably too much, it is an expensive repair. :(
