test purpose? guessing - to see if there's a correlation between voltage drop & amperage increase? wouldn't a 5-30 variable amperage test be just as valid/noticable at home in our garage on our 240 L2?

    This may help: http://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/dccircuits/dcp_7.html

Two metrics will let us figure out the resistance of the circuit breaker, wire, EVSE, and wire splices. I'm just curious.

Don't forget Japan is at 100V at 6A, so it'll take 10h45m based on those calculations (assuming steady rate and no slow down near full charge)

To make any large inroads in the US, Toyota needs to stop classifying Hybrids and FCVs as something different than cars and trucks. Most people shop for a car or truck. Much fewer consider something categorized differently.

They also need to renegotiate the contracts with the private distributors removing their choice of not selling or servicing a Toyota branded vehicle. The current situation with the Prius Prime should not be repeated.

    Agree.

Unfortunately, the brand sites I recall throwing their hybrid or PHEV in with the rest of their cars have gone to a separate grouping as the number of models increase. Toyota's site does let you compare hybrid to ICE under the specs page..

As long as the US is stuck with independent car dealers that rely on service departments for profits, they will push back against any technology that threatens that revenue. Part of GM not supporting plug in infrastructure could have been to appease dealers when they brought out the Bolt.

Another equally big barrier - Toyota (& ALL manufacturers) sales Critters. Most know nothing of plugin tech - & try their hardest to sell you their usual - a sedan, suv or pickup. No point in manufacturing a million if the stealerships are dead set in swaying towards something else.

From what I've found, if a Chevy dealer wants to sell Bolts, they have to set up a charging station that's accessible to owners. I've seen level 2s and DC chargers at some of the dealerships.

There are a few good sales critters though. I am sure my Gen 1 owner sales critter will study the Prime if they have one available. Unfortunately, Virginia is not a CARB state.
He spent a lot of time going over the Gen 4 Prius features before our test drive.
