Yet another first road trip in a PiP

    Yep! I'm loving this weather. (except for the thunder and lightning last night)

    I put the numbers into my spreadsheet and was pleased considering the adverse conditions. Total fuel cost, leaving with a full tank and filling up on return, came to $120.16 for the 2,662 miles. According to my spreadsheet, that's $101.14 less than if we'd averaged 28 mpg.

    As for the extra weight, it certainly did make a difference, as did the headwinds. On the long flat stretch of US19 south of Chiefland, we were struggling to show an indicated 50 mpg even with a light crossing tail wind. Normally, on level ground it would indicate about 60 mpg at that speed.
