My salesman just sent me an e mail if I would like to come in and order my Prime for a late Feb or early March 2018 delivery. The starting cost for the base model 32,999 with a 5000 dollar rebate from the government.

When my deposit was returned back in March I leased CT 200H for 39 months Fsport. Now that I have been driving a pure hybrid for a few months I wonder if the limited km I would get by plugging in is really worth it.
Loving the Ct but I would have loved the Prime.

There's an Ontario CA (California) and there's an Ontario CA (Canada). Not confusing at all

It is great the Prime is finally assailable in Ontario Canada.
Unfortunately most US people interpret Ontario CA as Ontario California.:( I have asked for the thread title to be changed.

Until I moved to the US (from Toronto) I was not even aware of Ontario California.I expect, outside the US. Ontario Canada is more well known than that city in California.
I am sure it was an honest oversight and I have reported for the thread title to be clarified.

I too initially thought, Ontario, California, but the KM and the $5000, kickback helped me figure it out!! I guess you can't train newbies before they join us, so we have to be on the alert to help them out!! (eh?). If he had just said, "eh" at least once, there'd never would have been a question!!

    .
Funny, I test drove a CT200h, before driving/buying my 2012 PIP, because my wife had a Lexus which she loved and I thought of staying in the Lexus family.
I was VERY disappointed with the CT200h; to me it drove poorly, especially the lousy brakes and the final coup de grace (besides overpriced), was it's unavailability as a plug-in; I have to have the HOV stickers for all my heavy freeway traffic commuting. The Prime is head a shoulders above my PIP, particularly with the Prime's 34 EV miles vs. the PIP's 8-9 miles!

@EddyCurrent should be able to edit the title, probably for about the next 12 hours? Not sure what the cut-off is.

FWIW, I was thinking Ontario, California too: the city has come up before.

Hey: if you want to convey a clear, unambiguous message, for a forum that's read around the world, please:

Avoid acronyms, especially in critical info. Spell it out: Ontario, Canada.

(You can cut and paste, lol.)

Like I mentioned earlier, I expect that worldwide the province of Ontario in Canada is more well known than a small California city.
You really need to get out more. :D

You never know around here and I have never done that.

You mean :do as I say, not as I do"? I do not see British Columbia, Canada spelled out in your profile.

Hey, it ends with Canada, doesn't that trump (ugh, hate that word) shortening the province. Anyway, give me a mo...

The confusion arises not only with "Ontario", but with CA being the same abbreviation for California and Canada!!
California should win out with that abbreviation; we've got 3 million more people than ALL of Canada!!

    Ok, let’s play that game.
Ontario Canada founded in 1867. Ontario California planned in 1881

Ontario Canada has a population of more than 13.5 million people. Ontario California has a population of 166,866.

Who tried to copy who ?

    See www.ontario.ca/page/about-ontario#section-5

EDIT Sorry for the funky link but PriusChat eats some links.

Googling "population of Canada" I get this for first hit:

    IMG_7981.jpg

Kind of eerie how it included population of California, I didn't even ask.

Again, poor OP; we should get back on topic.

Well getting the Prime would be for the EV experience - the ability to run that short distance in electric mode and not have to worry about idling. (esp. in traffic where the A/C will drain the HV battery quickly in the a Prius or CT).

Thanks for having thread changed and my sincere apologies. Ontario acquired its name from the Iroquois word “kanadario”, which translates into “sparkling” water. The earliest recording of the name Ontario was in 1641 where it was used to describe a mass of land on the north shore of the easternmost part of the Great Lakes. Ontario was formerly known as upper Canada.

Who would of thought the Iroquois got all the way to California and Oregon without the use of a Hybrid.
